@Andy + Naz
Thanks for the info, very promising. Still getting used to my new improved phone, as a result of the 016 FW. Really looking forward to the little tweak "in the next couple of weeks aiming to enhance the usability and performance of Xperia™ X10", which should fix my already improved battery. Thanks again for your work.

why is it update still not available for my x10? i got my unit from philippines and it it still running on the old software R1FA014. It so unfair until now sonyericsson doesnt provide the update via seus for asian market. Since i'm having a problem with my battery, which drained so fast!

Anyone from asia having their x10 updated via seus?

Nope! And not the A-button problem on Swedish keyboard either. (R1FB001 )

I actually can't see almost any difference... somehow it became more responsive in certain things, but almost unnoticeable.

Looking at replacing my Aino for an X10 within the next while. I've been longing for a full touch phone ever since my Aino gave me a taster. Android seems like the way!

I'm sure it has been asked before but this is a long thread to trawl through, so... What's the verdict on the best looking colour in reality? Black or white?

senninha@ I have the firmware on my PC at home but ive not installed it as of yet.

I am personally going to wait a few weeks to see if the R2 update arrives.

Got my X10 from Hong Kong and currently using the .14 firmware as well and unable to update via SEUS or anything else. Still very happy with the phone, just can't wait for these updates to be pushed globally. Maybe its got something to do with the fact that asian phones usually come with chinese language or non-latin language input methods which makes the update that much longer I guess. Could be wrong. Will wait for the updates due possibly in a few weeks. If Timescape and Mediascape has a marked improvement in speed in the update that would be fantastic as I love these two apps. Hopefully the R2... update will come soon. Creatouch looks pretty interesting, I'm constantly finding new wallpapers to use on the X10 cos I can't help picking it up every few minutes to play with it. The only problem right now is that Google Goggles version 1.1 isn't working well on the X10 so I have installed the previous version which worked fine but with no translation tool. Hope Google fixes this soon.

@senninha

I would have to disagree with mange69. as a UK user who used Lollylost's tutorial to debrand and go from 014 to 016, I have noticed a huge difference in call volume and clarity. I also found that the keyboard had improved so much that although I had the HTC one ready to use, it was only a double check today that got me to make it the input method, as the difference is now quite small.

I personally feel and have expressed in previous posts that the jump between 014 + 016 is quite a big one in overall use, even if there's no whistles and bells about it. Am hoping the next tweak will be here within fortnight as per other's posts on here and the phone will just continue to get slicker.

@Trickois

thanks for that. while my phone is unbranded, it is an asia pacific version, for which the .16 firmware was never made available. i hope that the new firmware solves the problem, although it's good to know that for some people, the issue has already been addressed.

The black was more readily available but I think white is the most wanted.

Thanks Goldenface. I wasn't aware of that thread. I can easily get either of them and I think I'm tending towards white.

Xperia X10 is NTT DoCoMo’s fastest ever selling smartphone

Sony Ericsson launched the Xperia X10 Android smartphone in early April through the NTT DoCoMo network. The X10, simply known as Xperia in Japan, has gone on to become the quickest selling smartphone in DoCoMo’s history according to a Barclays Capital report.
... Figures show that the Xperia sold 120,000 handsets in less than three weeks beating the HTC Android (model unspecified) that sold 80,000 units across 10 months. It was the best-selling phone on the network in April, scoring even higher sales than the 32GB iPhone 3GS. It all makes for impressive reading. Click through for an excerpt of the report.
... Last week we upgraded DoCoMo to Buy to reflect our increasing optimism that the company could be the big beneficiary of smartphone proliferation in Japan, given their high quality network and evolving philosophy. DoCoMo’s new smartphone, Sony Ericsson Xperia, has sold about 120,000 units within its first three weeks on sale; Tsusaka’s data shows that the initial 100,000 unit shipment to distributors sold out in 10 says, but another 50,000 units delivered in mid-April, and a third set of 30,000 units is apparently scheduled for late April. ... Stores which open on weekdays are mostly sold out. Sales of over 100,000 units make a positive contribution to the company’s net increase in subscribers, so it looks very likely NTT DoCoMo will again have a top share of net add in April.
...You can see that the Xperia handset is enjoying unprecedented demand compared to previous smartphones on DoCoMo’s network: Xperia sales versus DoCoMo’s previous smartphones. Xperia 120,000 in 20 days, HTC Android 80,000 in 10 months, Blackberry Bold 60,000 in 14 months, Toshiba Windows Mobile 60,000 in 10 months...
