@haki: The Secret has much better quality in those images, but I can't help but feel I've seen much better shots from the C902 in pretty similar conditions. I'm not saying I think the C902 is definitely better than the Secret. I haven't used the Secret. But I reckon my C902 could take a better shot.

And I agree, the C902 signal is excellent. A big improvement on my W910i even!

Both photos were taken at "Auto". I am pretty skillful at taking photos but I only use the mobile-phone camera to take quick snapshots...not to go after ideal lighting conditions where the C902 (or any other phone) might take better photos. Anyway, I have to return one of the two phones in about half an hour and I still haven't decided yet! I'll hane to make up my mind while driving to my friend's store where he'll probably butcher me for unboxing so many phones before I decide which one to keep!!!

@fluke9: A LOT of purple fringing! The C702 that I was testing couple of days ago was as bad. The G700 that I had last week had NO fringing WHATSOEVER...neither does the Secret.

Which software do you use for the removal of the purple fringing? It does a good job.

There are lots of programs which improve the appearance of digital photos but it is nice to have a decent one to begin with. You probably know how good of a photo you can get if you process the whole C902 photo, not to mention the Secret photo.

@haki
I was in the same dilemma 11/2 months ago when I was deciding between the LG Secret & SE C902. Finally I chose the SE C902 because I read 'rumours' that LG products are not very durable. Unfortunately, I'm not one who changes the cellphone every few months or even annually.

Now, I am 90% satisfied with my C902. The remaining 10% being at my age, I need to use reading glasses when I am watching CNN on the miniscule screen. I won't have that problem with the LG Secret screen, if I had purchased it. I think the C902 can take excellent pictures outdoors & in good lighting. But I am frustrated because in low-light conditions, the photos taken are quite blurry no matter how I adjust the camera settings.

So which model have you finally decided on?

Guys, I kept the Secret. Its advantages (for me) outweighed its average signal compared to the very good by the C902 (it also has a SAR rating of 0.30 compared to 1.37 for the C902). The size of the screen is important for a multimedia phone. LG has a very good reputation when it comes to manufacturing quality and the Secret is the best that LG has to offer when it comes to the materials used (metal, tempered glass and carbon fiber). There is also a 5-scale adjustment for fonts which can range between small ang really huge.

I change phones very often so I will probably return to SE when the new phones are released.

Purple fringing... Hmm I hope this one will be solved once DB3150 modding comes used by most people . A modded camera driver can solve a problem like this imo.

think we can drop that question about good or bad details on c902.
even longer distance shoots have good details. (so its not just macro pics who ends up with sharp details)

100% crop

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

about Secret (once again), it produce good daylight pics. YES. but its aweful in low light, etc. YES. it also produce way to satured colors when its colorfull sceens. YES (see example the MC.Drive picture)
i wouldnt choose Secret any day against C902, mainly because C902 belongs in a different leauge

its nothing for nothing that one of the biggest camera magazin gave C902 this verdic:

about fringing... i have look at MANY full size pics in the c902 thread, and there is no fringing. IF IT had been some fringing issue, you had seen it straight away on this pics. (it had been purple curls around the edges...looks pretty clean to me)

Hi mate. Congrats on your new purchase!

The codename of the C902 is Alona.

I haven't noticed any difference in sensitivity on mine. I find that you barely even need to touch them and they work. They are very sensitive.
