Oh wow... so obviously your template means one can create other folders for sms storage aside from its outbox etc.,

My K700 when i first got it could store 100 between inbox and sent items. Its now reduced that number to 50 it seems. My phone has also taken to deleting my msg's which is frustrating and also leads to an answer to 'why do people want to store so many msgs?' Answers being among: A) People are touched by the msg, from friends girlfriend etc. B) People could use the msg to prove things. C) there may be an address, number or date etc in the msg. D) its nice to be able to look back on the texts u sent if you dont understand the reply you've recieved.

Actually, what bothers me the most with the 100 sms limit, is that you have to delete both Inbox AND sent items very very very often! If only it had the same option as on NOkia, where it simply deletes the oldest message, to make room for a new one - this way, you would NEVER have to delete any of your messages, since it does it automatically for you.

I use my sim memory for messages which contains adresses etc, I have to save for a short period of time.

Just tried the 'save messages to template folder' -trick!
It's not a convenient way to archive sms's.

You can't save more than one sms to the template folder at a time. (Using 'mark sveral' only allows me to save to 'saved items' which is located on the sim and only allows 16 saved sms's.)

Saving a single sms to template folder, does not remove it from its original location. (For instance, if you want to move a sms from inbox, you will have to save it and then delete it from inbox.)

Quite a lengthy procedure.

Yes, unfortunately it does.
I now use FMA - pc software to backup/archive sms's.
