mwarner, guess you missed the availability of R1KC001 released for mostly European CDA and some operators which DISABLES Video Preview and UPGRADES Java version so that we have the new look of font there.

BTW, thanks that you update the info with the problem of being unable to preview SVG files from file manager and Drivers link from EMMA website. I have PMed you with my findings.

I tried to update my firmware using wotan to k810i and now having network problems. I get 3 beeps when I call and can only very occasionally connect to the network. Everything seemed to go ok with the flashing process.

Tried to flash back to k800i but it makes no difference. Logged a ticket with wotan but does anyone here have any ideas?

Sorry for jumping on this thread!

Hi guys,

Remember the problem I had with the screen turning off in the middle of typing an SMS with R1J? I fixed it!
I activated the screen saver and then deactivated it.
Voila! The screen doesn't die anymore.

well, so far so good... has anyone noticed that SE haven't fixed the bug at phone startup, when the phone lock code box shows onscreen for a brief time even if you havent changed sim... i certainly hope R1JG001 isnt the last firmware for our phones... there are lots of upgrades to be had... i hope the next f/w update includes a new cybershot-specific startup show, just like the ones found on walkman phones...

Dear friends,

Today I have experienced a problem with my K800i. When I try to open the Programs, and Games folders, I get the message "Operation Failed". This happened immediately after uploading games on the phone by using USB cable.

I upgraded the firmware last week to R1J. I tried again to reinstall the firmware but it could not resolve the problem. Did Master Reset, but couldn't help.

Any idea on how I can do it? Is it firmware ploblems?

Thank you and sorry if this type of problem was already posted.

Yesterday I faced a new problem (at least for me) with my K800i with R1JG001. I don't know if anyone faced it and if it is serious or not.

the problem:
I was going through my phonebook and saw one number mentioned twice. I pressed the "C" to delete it. I accepted it and then my screen went black. after some time (1 minute) I saw some backlight going back on and some 30 seconds later the screen went on again and I saw that I lost all connections. About half a minute later, the phone was usable again and the item was deleted from the phonebook. I know that it wasn't a restart as I didn't had to enter my PIN again or had to choose for the "normal status" versus "airplane status". More people facing this problem?

I have an other isue which I have no clue where it comes from, but maybe someone can give me some info. Since my update to R1JG001 (through FOTA) when I am in a telephone call for more than 5-10 minutes I loose my network connection and the call is closed. After several seconds the connection is back and I can make a phone call again. Could this be firmware related or is it a problem with the antenna?

Thanks in advance for all the help

Had the exact same problem few weeks ago. The only solution was finaly to take it to the SE service center where they reflashed ALL the f/w, and everything was ok.

It is intended to improve stability, I'm sure. I have R1KC001 with Europe_5 custpack as Wotan doesn't release APAC version. I believe that each firmware update brings something improved that end-users unlikely notice. Remember, the Java version is 7.4. It means something for sure. I never regret updating my firmware because I always find more and more improvements.

@jcbos

i have mentioned the problem before, about phonebook entries being duplicated and the phone crashing when trying to delete the duplicate entry. also happens on R1JG, so is it a confirmed bug? anyone else having the same issue?

@ Sky Hi,

Thank you for reply.

Unfortunately we don't have SE service center here in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Any idea on how I can solve the problem apart from taking back to service center?
