@vasai123 its not about loutna or lotana do u know who is the ceo of vodafone? he is an india 
and its 38% share is still with essar (indian company) and now when they r entering they will have to offer better service or they will out of business 
reliance lost the hutch deal because it has the worst chairman who is mixing politics with business (Anil ambani) and he scare of taking a tough decision which is not good for growth of any business he should learn something from his brother.
now airtel and other company has not option other than launching 3g vodafone is a 3g leader currently it will use bharti's infrastucture to provide service on the other side he will upgrade its (hutch ) current network to provide 3g.
so all in all win win situation for we consumers
more competition
more services
less price
and may be good service
what else we want? |

@stayback when i was on hutch i would get the network busy msg every evening. On atel, i've got it only once since 2 yrs! |

Are u sure abt Hutch's Manipal offer? According to best of my knowledge, Manipal offer is only valid in Manipal city. I mean only under the Manipal towers(hotspots). I may be wrong. But this doesn't apply to Spice.
By the way, which plan is economical under Airtel college special? I'm currently under 986 plan(2 years validity).

@Dheeraj ya dude u r 100% write that now v hav to wait for a revolution in indian telecommunication due to arrival of vodafone..
but do u know that our so called airtel is a apparent copier of vodafone..
evn airtel live is 95% copy of vodafone live .. same services ..
(but vodafone hav not free gprs....LOL....).....
whwnever airtel launches ne new service or plan hen its always already
implemented by vodafone jst a few weaks or months b4..
Anyway ne1 know y airtel gprs works like edge in haryana on non edge mb.. (edge still not launched here) giving me dwnload speed of 8-12 but a wrost surfing speed exept evening and late night..
@jing n alan frnds do know the reason that y live proxy stops responing frequently then starts agian while surfing but while dnlding it givs suprb speed.. means have airtl done something phishy.....???

Update!!
Once u come out of manipal city the your hutch to hutch charges of 10ps/min doesn't hold. u will be charged at 40ps/min. Other things of the plan still holds good.
Don't know much abt the airtels different student schemes. I thought there was one each prepaid and postpaid plans for students.
The plan that I have is the normal prepaid student offer. Under this plan there is no daily rentals for sms, full talktime for recharges over Rs. 350/-, A to gsm Rs. 1, A-landline Rs. 2. Night time A-A 50ps/min. |

Hello people ..
I m new to Airtel GPRS and i have activeted to use GPRS 12rs/day plan on my ErricSon k310i . Also successfuly configured to use it on PC.
But the speed on PC is not more than 3KBps while i think on mobile it is nearly 5-6Kbps. What speeds you get through Free GPRS ?
I dont have used that exta initialization command for modem as it didnt work for me (maybe i have that bad command parameters).
I m keen to know how i can increase my speeds on PC/ mobile as for sometime i saw 10Kbps speed on my pc for around 10 seconds and then it dropped back.
I did search for last 2-3 hours in this forum but i cant understand wats going on..as you guys seem to be using GPRS since long time.

i found free sms trick using mig3*
1. login mig 3*
2. press menu
3. select invite friend
4. enter your friend/girl friends number
5. after that (your name) fild enter sms
6. press invite friend
enjoy free sms

I too face that problem in surfing with free gprs. I mostly use NOP for browsing which is always fast for me. As an exception, as i m typing this msg (2:45 pm), the browsing speeds are really great on LIVE.. I m glad u cud get edge like speeds at ur place but dunno how that happens though... |
