As at now, has it been confirmed whether the X1 has or has not an accelerometer? |

This just concerns swedish orders at Katching

No. I think it's pretty safe to say it hasn't.

It's a start!
You do know that you're a smartphone geek, right?
Almost, but not quite. I'm going to crown aksd as smartphone-geek-supreme
I don't consider myself as deep into it as him and some others. Once I get the X1, I'll probably disappear from around here until I'm ready to buy my next killer phone a year (or probably more) later. Though I like the do-it-all phones, I'm not that deep into the chipsets and OpenGL support and what have you...I'm more intersted in the overall final product than its internal particulars (though I want top hardware). Call me a hybrid geek/mainstream-consumer.
The thing is though, just the very fact you're posting on a forum about this at all makes you much, much more of a geek than the average consumer that SE might wish to aim this at. That's not a criticism, obviously I'm a complete geek myself, but again I'm coming from a current WM phone and am not that interested in the X1.
I would say, WM is a great, geeky, and tweakable platform, and the chances of you getting this phone (or any decent WM phone) and not posting anywhere again are pretty slim. I'm sure the X1 will end up with its own forum here if it's any kind of success, and you'll be discussing the latest WM software, firmware tweaks, and all the rest of it till the cows come home (if not here, you're bound to find a new home on XDA Devs, Modaco or elsewhere). To get the best out of any WM phone, the X1 included, you won't be able to resist keeping up to date... to be honest, it's a waste of a phone if you don't

Have you preordered at Katching when there was only one to choose from? Now is the silver version also there where the reservation queue starts at zero. Do you want that silver instead it is best to book immediately so you do not fall too far down in the queue. I now ended up at place 8 instead of 121 on the black version. |

Oh please don't leave once you get your X1 as I'm eager to see just how well the X1 lives up to your expectations or not. I'm sure you'll have lots more questions one you have it in your hand as to how it does or why it doesn't do certain things you thought it would.
I'm pretty sure once it's released the X1 owners thread will be even bigger than this one is. But if you really believe this is going to be a mass selling device i just think you are wrong as it is never meant to be that.

Maybe, but this is the first phone forum I've ever actively posted in. I've never posted in a p910 forum or read them. |

The P910 was a different beast though. Software was always quite limited for UIQ, and there was really nothing much you could to change or improve the way the P910 worked, it was just what it was - a solid, dependable phone + organiser.
You'll get a lot more out of the X1 (or any Windows Mobile device) and probably have an awful lot more questions too. It's an extremely powerful OS, but not the most consumer friendly at times..

There is no news on that, and certainly nothing from SE to suggest the X1 will ever receive such an update. Nobody knows the hardware requirements of Windows Mobile 7 yet, but it's quite possible that the X1 doesn't meet them, and that none of the current crop of WM phones will be able to run the new OS.
WM7 is likely to be a much more significant upgrade than the shifts from WM5 to WM6, or 6 to 6.1, which have all been relatively minor improvements on the same base code.

Where are you going to get your X1 from? I'm thinking of going the Expansys pre-order route but I'm in the US. |

I've been using a X1 for some time now, and I can tell you this much, it fu**ing kicks ass. Love it.
The WVGA-screen..Oh, what a beauty. Compared to my old phone (HTC TyTN 2) it's ultra-fast when browsing through menus and such. I can go on for an hour or so. I like HTC Touch Pro as well, but it's nothing compared to this device. This is pure elegancy.

But I'm still quite apprehensive about the fact that the 'non-standard' resolution will have compatibility problems with 3rd party applications. No accelerometer also means certains apps can't be used either. |
