Yes, the next action would be to reinsert the battery and let the software reboot.

Hi,

I'm new here and with X10 (and debranding at all ).

I'm using Windows XP and get stuck at "5. Select repair - and let PC Companion guide you through it."

After re-inserting the USB-cable while holding the 'back'-button I get the message
"New hardware found
SEMC Flash Device" (translated from Dutch )

After this point the computer 'freezes'.
The mouse still moves, but that's it.
The computer won't respond at all, no status-light changes (numlock, capslock).
The only thing the computer responds to is holding the powerbutton a long time.

Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Do I need a special setting for the USB-ports?

Same for me.
I'm at this point and only have the Icon-files.

But I can't get any further at all.

This is something to do with your internet connection and firewall. I had earlier some issue, so im basically disable firewall when i do update. and if you go the directory mentioned on the first post you will see both files around 111mb and 16mb files need to download from the update system to complete update.

You will be able to. Best to upgrade to Nordic R1FB001 since SE has forgotten about people in other regions who also have X10s.

Still nothing.

Installed SEUS and disabled Firewall. No new files from PC Companion and same files through SEUS.

Windows file search for inlife_longterm returns 0.

No, I thought I had to find the files in blob_fs and copy your files across before updating it? The furthest I have got is where it asks me to re-insert the battery and hold down the C/back button on the phone, but is this not where your files would be installed?

SEUS says my phone has the latest software, anyway.

@5H4K,fortissimo: Like mentioned above, "repair/update anyway" the program will say your phone is up-to-date but you want it to update anyway/repair, during this progres the current firmware is downloaded, and if you follow all steps it will install the same fw on your phone that you currently have, it's only after this you will have the temp-files and are abel to overwrite them with your own newer fw files. next step is that you will have to do the update process again, choosing to repair/update anyway again. it can't be done in one turn.

it's all explained in the first post. i followed it and succes the first time.

Note: if you are updating to X10i Generic NCB (R1FA016) you will have to run the update once again to get the new R1FB001, so in total you will have to update/install your x10i 3 TIMES

I wasn't allowed a fourth posting the other day

Everything worked out great.

I rebooted Windows into safe mode (found that one somewhere else) and PC Companion runned perfectly.
Only step 4 was a little bit 'panic'. After 10 seconds the phone wouldn't start. It finally worked after a longer time.

Maybe you can mention to reboot Windows into safe mode when having problems with PC Companion?
