I'm liking the UI changes. Is it just me or has the contrast ratio improved. My wallpaper after the update looks different.

I'm not sure but the whole phone looks crisper.
It may be just an impression.
It is definitely faster and smoother.
It has a cost - now instead of 900 we have only 600 MB free RAM.

I have no batt problems and the camera seems as good as before.
Pity automatic mode doesn't give full 13mpx.

Battery consumption issue returned after day or two. With normal usage I used to have 50-70% left after work day. Now it's used to be more like 30-40%.

After conversation with a friend, I tried another approach. Micro SD seemed to consume the battery with his Samsung after update to 4.3. I removed the memory card for a test.

Voilá! Battery usage is back to normal! Have been there for almost a week now. For the record, only thing I have on the Micro SD is music files. No apps, no nothing. And I haven't even used the Walkman or any other app to play music for a long time now.

So strange.
I have a slight YouTube problem on Mobile connection.
It plays a video and after 14 seconds stops and plays from the beginning.
After some tinkering it eventually freezes the phone.

As for the battery, overnight on Airplane (no Stamina)
it eats 1% or even 0%.

Let's see.

I like my phone on 4.3 ATM but I hate the Superior Auto in Camera:
it was brilliant, it's a joke now.

Please beware of the manufacturing quality of this phone.

I noticed a while ago that I had somehow got dust inside the camera lens on my phone and complained to Sony. I have hardly used the ports on my phone because I have both a charging dock and bluetooth headphones that mean I never need to open the ports again. So really, there was no explanation for the dust. Sony agreed with me and I was going to send my phone back very soon... until tonight when I decided to do some trick photography under water.

The instant that my phone hit the water, the screen started playing up — flickering as if the light sensor was detecting I was in a strobe light party. I thought it was just the screen playing up, thinking the water was my fingers but soon I realised it was worse than that. Then the screen went black.

The phone is still on. It shows signs of life occasionally, like the Facebook blue notification light coming on, but it is unusable now and I can not see the screen to select to turn it off, nor can I remove the battery.

However, having water inside the phone has allowed me to see where it is leaking out from, and it has shown me what the issue is. It is not to do with the seals on the ports, but the attachment of the whole back glass cover of the phone. The very top left corner of the back cover is not attached properly and I can flex it just by pinching it with my finger, pushing water out. I think if I tried, I could pry the whole cover off with just my fingernail.

I would suggest to everyone to check this on their phone and to be very careful of it.

For me, I think it is R.I.P. Xperia Z.

I would contact Sony again and tell them the whole story.
There is always a chance they'll replace it.

@Muhammad-Oli

Sorry about your phone.

I've read similar stories and ever since I've been very careful.

It seems that when you task the phones processor, by playing graphic intensive games for extended periods of time or instance, the heat from the internals can soften the adhesive used to bond the back glass panel.

Is it not still under warranty?

Sorry but that's pretty poor from Sony. Don't they test these devices properly??

Hi Goldenface

Yeah I have since read that this is actually a well documented fault with the manufacturing of the Z. My phone is under warranty so I will call Sony again, but I am weary about it because of how many people have stated that Sony blame this fault on the user. :/
