Is that the Arco S?

Those flaps protect the poort, don't you know that?
You can easy cut off those flaps if you want, so why bother complain about that?

Wow covering 3.5mm jack is such a fail. I understand USB port and HDMI, as these are used only when phone is on a table etc. But headphone jack is used mainly in pocket while being in motion, having to f*ck around with a flop that will fall of approx. after few months is a big turn OFF not a turn on

My Xperia S has a 3.5 mm jack full of dirt inside, men you people complain everything what easy can remove.
What a such fail people like you complain about nothing.

@worf1000

hey man, I was just offering my opinion which was in contrast to randomuser's. I know they protect the port, but I personally have never had any issues with my ports being dirty and subsequently not connecting so I think I'm entitled to say. My post was neither invasive, over-stated or aggressive so I'm not sure you need to give me a slap on the wrist for offering my opinion.

Also, yes it's easily solvable by cutting them off, but that would just leave an even uglier situation with bare plastic chassis showing through. Why would I pay x hundreds of pounds and start cutting chunks out of it.

I suggest you clean the lint from your pockets occasionally, if not for the sake of your phone then for personal hygiene.

Razec, Exactly!
If not for those protective flaps, the phone wouldn't be waterproof!
They complain about the phones not being water/dust/scratch proof, yet they complain about the flaps that are required for this feature in a phone. It's either or, people....

Actually, I didn't know if it was Arco S or not hence why I asked. Of course, waterproofing requires the flaps.

..and I'm not one of those who was moaning for waterproofing, if I was I wouldn't speak out against port covers.

While I agree with Ricky that at some point those flaps will get loose and deny Acro S its scuba diving talents, I do like the way Sony put them there, it reminds me of my K700 which had a rubberized cover for the charger/headset/data cable which is very prone to malfunctioning due to accumulation of dirt and molds. also Some Sony VAIOs of the past also had protective cover for USB ports/etc.

I also give my opinion that most people complain about nothing, for got sake it's not a girl it's a mobile phone
I works in construction, that's why often get dirt in the jack, well i have a solution just take the plug in the jack in and take it not out until I'm Finnish my work.

Then why you paid a phone with those flaps to protect those things?
And take it easy......................I'm just very surprised that many people complain for nothing important.

You guys do realize that, in order to get its waterproof rating, then the Acro S needs a cover for the headphone port, right?
