I converted many videos last night but seemed not working well in my S700i. They couldn't be played. It said that the length and the size of the videos are unknown.

No go for full width videos... 
Thanks to welsh uk for his time but we couldn't manage to encode a video using full width of S700i screen.
Maybe someone has better luck...

No doubt you have been reading the thread about this on HowardForums but just in case you haven`t one of the guys says the Anacondas clip was encoded using Packet Video, PVAuthor, hope this helps.
I really hope someone can crack this problem soon. |

Getting the video to play at 176X144 in a surrounding of 320X240 and playing smoothly was easy (as confirmed by Krubach)
But trying to get the video to expand to full width i just could not recreate even when cutting off the edges of the video
I suggest that you contact the web site admin (that hosts the videos) and ask them what encoding tools they used and how they prepared the video file so that it expands the width (i remember reading somewhere that some encoders turn there videos sideways for example the PXXX series will play the video in normal mode like the S700 but when you go to fullscreen the video turns sideways to fill the entire screen)
Once you have the information you should be able to apply the settings to normal videos

This was resolved somewhere else (will find the link)
They ar eencoded using Pv author v3.0, i have it and all of my videos are encoded this way and are playing full screen!!

yeah crisnash02 is right. you can obtain "full width" video by encoding your movies with pv author. there's a certain profile needed to obtain these results but i can't post it. if i find a way i can post it to you |

with the firmware of v800 and s700 so similar is there any reason why the video size on the s700 is smaller than that of v800? is this something firmware updates could potentially fix or is it something to do with the hardware of the s700 camera? I'm mid-way deciding which of these two beautiful phones to keep and this video thing is a damn shame! |

First of all, the screen resolution of the S700 is so high so the videos tend to be smaller then the videos on for example the K700.
