I think its just a statement..But there's no harm in that, hopefully they will implement it. Anybody have r2aa yet using online service?

Is it really officially released? Or just trying to get us too excited. I really hope it has the phonebook search functionality in it..

does this mean they dont make saperate firmwares for k500 and the k 700? veterans do reply because i am planning to buy a k500 soon....

Yes thats right. But there is disabled some functions like bluetooth, since the K500i don't have it.
@masseur i think it will be here next week. the software was released yesterday here in norway, so it may take a few days before its transeffered to the online update. But on the other side, My man inside SE told that its connected to EMMA II so it should be there. But if its not up on EMMA II than it will not be on the online service eather..

I really wish to have the search feature. It's really inconvenient without it. Any difference in the photo quality? Is the 1 second delay when receiving call resolved? |

hi. what are the "small goodies" in the new firmware R2AA? any major changes like full screen view of video clips? i thought R2AA was a developer's release and not intended for regular users like us? i even read a R2Y version and R3A (correct me if i'm wrong). can you try out your phone with R2AA a little more and post any changes you might find from the previous firmware R2L? thanks.

R2AA003 has been released, at least for my country code, sweden
There is better bluetooth support and much better battery performance. The auto save on SIM feature is back. There is also a new search option in the addressbook.
About the search function: It’s not a “real” search option though. You write the first letter of the name you want and the usual small window in the upper right corner of the screen pops up. If you then write another letter, then a new small window in the upper left corner of the screen pops up. You can then keep adding letters to that new pop up window that finally forms the name of the person you are searching for. The search function tries to “jump” to the name you want as you keep typing letters. It’s mostly a good feature, but there is a downside that will irritate many people: If you type the wrong letter, then there’s no way to delete it. You will have to wait for the pop up window to go away (takes 5 seconds) and retype the whole thing. It is very easy to delete a contact by mistake before you learn this proceedure by typing the “C” button and then "yes"!
So, a small warning to you all about this new search function.

@chinhui
1) Same picture quality
2) If a picture is assigned to the person who calls you, then there is still a one second delay of the microphone. If there is no picture assigned, then there is no delay.
3) there's a lot of small goodies in R2AA003, but most noticable is a lot of corrections, like what messages pops up when trying to open empty folders etc.

Ok guys i talked to some poeple inside again at SE and at my local service point.
The new Software R2AA003 will not be available for a long time. Because this software is meant for all K700i produced from Week 40 (that was last week) and this phones has not hit the marked yet. It is under testing for the excisting K700i and will be available. But since the main ting with this update is to give the new Batteries, witch comes with the phones produced from week 40, better standby time.
Off course there is also the the bluetooth update and the search function.
Everyone who need the update right know has to visit his/her local service point

@sir-sony, thats bad news since local servicepoints here in my country could not upgrade my phone so I totally rely on the online update. Oh well, guess i'll be stuck w/ r2l for a while
