I have interviewed a few Americans so far, but my current guest is arguably the most famous of them. Often vocal and outspoken on a range of issues he is a firm favourite with Esato. Please welcome RichLok.
What is the best thing about Esato?
RichLok says:
The fact that this site has it all! I've been able to find useful information regarding SE phones AND other phones for that matter and still be able to chit chat with people around the world. To me, that's an amazing thing!
Who is your favourite member of Esato?
RichLok says:
I can't say that I have a favorite. But I have favorites. There's you, Kimchee, miss uk, vlamm, aauspitz, SE-Naz and others that I can't think of at this time. If I were to name one out of all of these great people, it would be an injustice.
Who is your favourite moderator?
RichLok says:
I would have to say, Masseur. He's pretty visible on the forums and he seems to blend in with the little people.
What is your favourite Esato moment?
RichLok says:
When I was able to configure my t68i and p800's GPRS and MMS settings. I wonder whatever happen to those two fellas that had the settings (Woe-Dee & tylerj)
What is your least favourite Esato moment?
RichLok says:
When some new-bee poster spams the living daylight out of Esato. Hate that with a passion.
Being an American you live in a country, which is, for the most part, behind the rest of the world in terms of mobile technology. Esatonians from Europe and Asia reguarly discuss technology that the U.S. may not have for some time, how does this make you feel?
RichLok says:
Like moving to Europe or Asia . Really, there's nothing we can do as citizens to change that. It is what it is as long as my fellow Esatonians understand that we are not behind by choice!
You became rather vocal in several political discussions here on Esato during the recent American Presidential Election, do you think that politics is a valid subject to be discussing on Esato?
RichLok says:
To a point. IMO, I hate politics and rather not discuss much about it. Bush and Kerry are both idiots but Bush should have not been elected president. It's done, now it's time to move with our lives and pray to avoid a second 9/11.
What would you do if you were moderator for the day?
RichLok says:
I'd try to figure out a way to avoid these damn spammers. I know it's a tough job but it's the most frustrating thing for me. Oh, and ban Kimchee more often.
Which mobile are you currently using?
RichLok says:
s700i, t616, moto a630, Nokia 8890 and the SE t68m.
Which mobile are you most looking forward to?
RichLok says:
A US version of the v800 once UMTS is launched nationwide
Do you have a message for Esato?
RichLok says:
Thanks for everything that you guys have done for me. It's been great!
Thank you to my guest, RichLok, and I hope you will be able to join me next time for some more banter on the couch.

That's one of the most comfortable, well worn-out couch I've ever sat on. It did smell a little funny though. |

Completing the triumverate of legendary figures sitting on the couch recently is my current guest. Adding a touch of glamour and a dash of awe to the proceedings, my guest has very kindly taken time out from his hectic schedule to be with us on the couch. Hailed as the 'Father of Bluejacking' it is my great honour to welcome ajack.
What is the best thing about Esato?
ajack says:
A: Esato is the only site that brings together all Sony Ericsson users.
Who is your favourite member of Esato?
ajack says:
A: I think "little flame" is my most favourite member of esato. I make it a point to see "little flame" every time I am in Amsterdam. You'll need to guess who "little flame" is, I'm not telling...
Who is your favourite moderator?
ajack says:
A: Masseur and Tranquil... I can choose two, right?
What is your favourite Esato moment?
ajack says:
A: Telling the whole world what I did in the "I did something naughty" thread.
What is your your least favourite Esato moment?
ajack says:
A: Don't have one.
Many consider you to be the 'Father of Bluejacking', how do you feel about this?
ajack says:
A: Glad to be a geek icon... and the only words of wisdom I the "Father of Bluejacking" have for you is... "'BJ' is not an abbreviation for bluejacking but means something else."
You helped create arguably the most influential application for the Pxxx series of smartphones, SMan, what was the inspiration behind it?
ajack says;
A: The SMan project was inspired by Ericsson's announcement of the P800 about three years ago. Droll and I who have done many coding projects together before SMan decided that the P800 was a good thing and decided that we would each buy a P800 when it came out and write programs for it. We wanted to make sure that the UIQ implementation by Sony Ericsson would be successful and decided to write programs for it that every user would want. We also wanted to make sure that everyone could have access to it and had decided then that this program should be free for all to use. The name SMan and the butt icon we had initially was our idea of a joke and how cool it would have been to name such an application with a name like SMan... There is just to much to tell about SMan and the story behind it.
What is next for SMan, can you give us a sneak preview?
ajack says:
A: Sorry, only a few people in Symbian, UIQ, Sony Ericsson and Motorola have seen early builds of SMan v1.4. Unlike previous builds, we have decided not to release information about upcoming versions because we had too much preassure and users asking us when the next build will be released that we have decided to do v1.4 in secret at our own pace and release it "without warning."
Recently SMan has been available for download from Handango, with users being asked to contribute a donation; is this a sign of SMan becoming more commerecialised and will SMan continue to be free?
ajack says:
A: SMan will always be free, the Handango donation item is to allow users who appreciate SMan to contribute back to us our time and efforts in developing SMan. The SDK may be free, but the compiler still costs money. We encourage users to contribute if they appreciate SMan but the program itself is free and our source codes is also made available with a very liberal licensing scheme.
Do you have any ideas for new applications?
ajack says:
A: Yes, a game is on the drawing board. Anything else will most probably be incorporated into SMan...
Which mobile are you currently using?
ajack says:
A: My P800, Sony Ericsson and Motorola have be kind enough to "permenently loan" other UIQ models they are having in their portfolio but I use the P800 at the moment.
Which mobile are you most looking forward to?
ajack says:
A: The next UIQ phone from Sony Ericsson
Do you have a message for Esato?
ajack says:
A: If you mean to the Esato site owners, "Esato Rulez" and if you meant to the users of Esato... "Only Trust A Sony Ericsson!"
My thanks to my guest, ajack, for a very interesting interview and for giving up his time for us. Please join me again soon for more chatter with another Esato favourite.

Great interview, that one!
I've just started using SMan on my P900, great programme - I like the 'cell info' part of the programme. Little suggestion for v.1.4 - how about expanding this area a bit more?

On the couch with me is one of Esato's most prolific posters. He is a regular of several of m&m's threads and has become one of Esato's best known members. It is my pleasure to welcome Ayush to the couch.
What is the best thing about Esato?
Ayush says:
Hmm… Actually it is the fact that it’s the busiest forum around!
Who is your favourite member of Esato?
Ayush says:
Fav. Member? Um.. actually there is no one specific There are many..almost all Indian members, u ( for some specific reasons ), bobafett (for his helpful attitude) , bianca..and lots more! [tole ya no one spefic!]

Ayush says:
Tranquilizer

The first playtime I won! Cudnt believe I cud actually win something thru wap
What is your least favourite Esato moment?
Ayush says:

With Esato dominated by European members, do you feel that it represents a good source of information and discussion forum for non-European members?
Ayush says:
Yes I do especially of late because so many Indian members have arrived!
You live in India, a country where most people earn a lot less than most Europeans or North Americans. How do you think members from poorer nations feel about those from richer nations discussing mobile phones that are, in relative terms, the equivalent to many weeks salary?
Ayush says:
They do not feel bad about it..are quite indifferent. Such a thought never occurred to me until now
Which mobile are you currently using?
Ayush says:
SE T 610
Which mobile are you most looking forward to?
Ayush says:
For buying?..has to be p910
Do you have a message for Esato?
Ayush says:
Yes …Thanks laffen…keep u the great work..and one lil suggestion..esato could do with being a wee bit less stricter
Many thanks to Ayush and I hope you will join me again soon for some more couch banter.
