Will the Mac OS X "Disk Utility" in the "Utilities" folder do it? Just remember to format it in PC format not Mac.

Hi!

I'm a Mac owner (PowerMac G4 Quicksilver 1000MP) and I use a Z1010. OSX doesn't need any additional software at all. The bluetooth assistent and iSync can do it all - sync and file management.

Sorry to tell you this, but a Mac with OSX is more user friendly and intuitive than a PC will ever be.

One question to all OSX user. I don't need to sync my Mac and Z1010, the only thing I want to do is to update my iCal files to the Z1010. No sync, only a copy of my iCal files on my Z1010.

How can I transfer the entries of iCal to my Z1010, without adapting the data of my Mac at the same time?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, because copying your iCal entries to your phone is part of the syncing process...

However, if you mean you only want to sync iCal and not Address Book, open up iSync and uncheck the Contact section:

Also, the only way data on your Mac will be changed is if you have changed data on your phone since the last sync. And its beneficial to have up-to-date data on both your phone and Mac.

Hi! Sorry, maybe I didn't use the right words.

When synchronizing it unites/adjusts the data of mobile phone and
Mac. I only want to send the data from the computer
to the mobile phone - and I don't want iSync to transfers files and make modifications/changes on my iCal. Understand?

Ok, well, as I said, your phone will only update the Mac if you have made changes on the phone since the last sync. If you haven't made any changes on the phone then there's no data for it to sync back to the Mac.

You could try going into iCal, choose "File > Export" and save the iCal entries as an .ics file. Then transfer this .ics file to the phone with Bluetooth File Exchange.

I'm not at home at the moment so I can't test it. Let me know if it works for you!

Im new to all this firmware update stuff, i need some help. I have just got a K700i on Orange. I see there is a firmware update. I asked at the shop they told me some porkies then i called Sony they also told me some news. The problem seems to be that im a Mac user. When i bought the phone they said i will have no trouble with mac. I see on some forums that they have got the iSync to work via Bluetooth. So some compatability. I have told that i can not update from the Sony Ericsson site as it`s PC only. Does this make any sence to anyone........? Please help.
I like the phone and im not too fussed about sync but i would like the firmware update. I cant see any way to get it without sending my phone back to Sony to be flashed. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Powerbook without b/tooth.G5.using (0SX 10.3.5v) K700i currenlty using R2C001.

The K700i is very Mac compatibel. iSync is the main reason you'd choose a SonyEricsson phone to use with a Mac. iSync is better than anything on a PC for synchronising the Mac OS X Address Book and iCal with the equivalent functions in the phone. It's well worth using.

Unfortunately, you cannot use the SonyEricsson online firmware update service with a Mac - it is PC only. However, one guy on this forum says that it does work with Virtual PC if you use the Opera browser. Others have tried it with Internet Explorer and it has trashed their phone, so be warned!

Jools, if take my S700 to the shop where I bought it can they do update on their PC, do I take the cradle with me or is it done on cable.
I've never bothered about before because it doesn't seem necessary, and I got mac.

I'm not completely sure. When I took my T610 in to a SE Service Centre in Birmingham, they used their own cable and equipment. However, now that it can be done online with a DSS-20/25 I'm not sure. I guess it would be the same, as not everyone will have one to take in with them.

Try: http://www.pocketmac.net

The GoBetween works very well for me. No problems at all.

@JoolsG4

Have you heard of anyone iSyncing a s700 with a Mac. I have a G4 and it finds the s700 via BT but iSync is dead in the water as usual. Any help appreciated.
