just got this internal email, took their bloody time didnt they lol
"Sony Ericsson have identified an issue with one type of their CST-13 mobile phone chargers.
There have been a small number of cases in the UK, where a pressure build-up in the charger has caused the top plastic part of the charger to break off. If the charger falls apart, it may leave the electronics of the charger exposed which further could pose a risk of giving a person touching these parts an electric shock or a risk of fire if the charger is in proximity of flammable material. Sony Ericcson are currently working closely with their supplier to get a full understanding of what causes this malfunction.
The charger has been shipped as one of several charger types with the following Sony Ericsson phone models:
T300, T310, T610, HBH-60 (BlueTooth headset) and a limited number of T68i
The type of chargers which may malfunction is limited to the 3-pin UK charger made by Delta with identification number BML162099/3 R1A.
The serial number and “Made in Thailand by Delta” is printed on the socket-face of the charger (the side that faces the wall when plugged in). See separate attached document detailing the process for identifying the Delta unit.
So far the number of reported incidents are 9 out of a total shipment of approximately 350,000 to UK, but as the unit must be deemed a potential Health & Safety risk, Sony Ericsson finds it necessary as a precautionary measure to immediately Stop Shipments and start a Recall process.
O2 fully supports this decision and will be 'quarantining' all chargers of this type currently in stock to prevent them being shipped to our customers. O2 is also actively supporting Sony Ericcson where possible by identifying and contacting customers who may be affected. Customer Service teams will be briefed to handle any inquiries from our customers on this issue.
If any O2 UK employee, or your friends or family (perhaps through an O2 employee offer), has one of the faulty chargers they must stop any further use of the unit with immediate effect. Contact the dedicated Sony Ericsson help line on 0800 587 6072 to arrange a replacement.

Thats a bit of bad news about those chargers, but its not a HUGE thing to get all worried about.
Its certainly doesn't compare with the fact that a MASSIVE ASTERIOD is heading for planet earth,
scientists have calculated that it will impact with the force equal to 3,000,000,000 SE exploding phone chargers, i can't tell you anymore..... its everyone for themselves ............ i'm f**kin heading for the hills ........ @bengalboy is going to stay & get some pics of Amy in an "Outfit" standing infront of the impact zone as it hits (how stupid is THAT!). |

Leave him be. As long as everybody who has an faulty charger gets it replaced, I'm happy.

SE will definitely fix the problem. That's not enough reason to stop selling the phones. |
