thanks again.
checked SEMC DSS-20 Syncstation cable - working.
followed it step by step exactly.
Disabled com port in phone monitor options.

I also have my DSL modem connected through USB 1, and have the phone connected to USB 2, which is recognised as com 3 after installation. is that a problem?

I have disconnected the DSL modem and tried it alone without any luck.

please tell me which com port ur usb1 is using, if at all its usin a com port, coz as i told u earlier, com1 and com3 are one and the same, and one more important thing, apart from disconnecting the dsl modem physically, also remove it from the modems in control panel, fcourse if only you would be able to install it again later,

there are times when some modems which work through the usb port dont work when there are other modems connected.

I tried removing the other modem and starting it all again without any success. The phone connection link recognises the phone when i connect it to the cradle, and moves the arrows, however the computer connot for some reason connect to the phone for dial up connection at all. from the wizard and from manual installation.

I'm sure i'm not the only person with this problem, and if anybody has anything more to offer please dont hesitate to say so.

@Closecat
Buddy, before trying to connect to the net, you please double click on the phone connection link and uncheck the com3 so that it shows "NOT CONNECTED", the go to control panel on ur phone and choose cable and choose modem and then try connecting please, i guess i explained the same thing in my first post to u.

then please also go to control panel of your computer and then choose the phone monitor options and enable ur com port 3.
pls get back to me.

I had serious issues with the cradle and could not get it to work at all and the only solution that wirked for me was a wipe of my harddrive and a new installation of win 2000

I have the same problem as Closecat after installing XP from the scratch with all new driver and fixes. My P800 can't connect to Phone Connection Manager. If I put my phone in the Syncstation or remove it. The arrows in the icon moves but the connection can't be established. I have tried all suggestion in this thread, but nothing works. I thought the new USB 2.0 drivers from VIA were the problem, but after removing them, the problem still exist.

How can I connect my phone to the PC again? It's terrible, because I have to backup the phone urgent.

regards

Well, after trying desesperately to connect to the internet with my P900 , and after reading 2 times this topic (cause I have same error message than CloseCat), I found why I was unable to connect.

I just selected "Modem" in the cable connection type, and the magic was in.

Finally, nobody in this thread mentionned this point, and this may be the solution for those have this problem
