Any info on thickness? Tablet Z is 6.9 mm. Z Ultra is 6.5 mm... I guess it will be around Z Ultra. Am I right?
I don't have a number... but it's thin.

I wonder if they'll continue with a 1080p display or if they'll bump up the resolution. While I'd say 1080p is quite sufficient for a tablet that size, there is always a market that demands the best specs. Also curious on what battery life should be like if it's going even thinner.

Considering they increase the screen resolution (I guess iPad 4 or Nexus 10 resolution) and use a S800, which is supposely more power efficient than the S4 Pro, and keep the 6000 mAh, I'd say the battery life is going to be quite good...

I've been having some an awesome battery life with mine, some days are amazing.

Once I got 8h20 of screen on (minimum brightness, we don't need more), and a total of 14h20 of battery life. WiFi on during 95% of the time.

Few days ago, I got 1d16h40 of battery, 8h04 of screen, WiFi on during 1/3 of time. PM me if you want proof

I'm curious if or when we might see some truly innovative, breakout features from Sony for their mobile devices. I mean things like waterproofing and quality cameras are great and all, but they're not really unique.

Now of course Sony did have things like IR blasters and floating touch tech on their phones before anyone else (globally that is) so that's definitely something. I'm just curious to see if they'll have more unique stuff to show anytime soon. What that stuff is, I have absolutely no idea. They seem to love trying to push for world records for how thin their devices are and whatnot, so of course those are achievements worth noting. I'd just like to see some truly unique features that the masses can definitively look at and say, "holy crap, I need that Sony device!"

Let's hope we see some of that this year! Kaz emphasized he wanted to bring the "wow" factor to their product lineups. Hope we see some "wow" in mobile too

Any info on thickness? Tablet Z is 6.9 mm. Z Ultra is 6.5 mm... I guess it will be around Z Ultra. Am I right?

EDIT: Regarding the Windows vs Android thing, my opinion is that a tablet can't and probably will never be able to replace a laptop. Tablet, IMO, isn't meant to replace a notebook, or Ultrabook or whatever, they are complementary devices. Even if you have a Windows tablet, you would still need another device, IMO...

That's why the perfect combo is a Smartphone (4-5 inches), a Tablet (7-10 inches) and a notebook (15-17 inches) and/or desktop...

Thickness : Peoples will not want a crazy thin tablet that sacrifice some key features just to be thin, Tablet Z while it was ( and still ) gorgeous and sexy.. it lack two things.. no LED flash and the battery was small... I believed that adding 1-1.5mm will solve these issues not to mention it will be still thin ( 7.9-8.4mm )...
In another hand, I still believe that Tablets should be higher spec.ed than smartphones, duo to the larger size and natural of work and usage on them, at least in the side of RAM, storage and SoC.. but mainly RAM and storage...

About Windows vs. Android ( not again )... for the time being, I believe Tablets is for Android, except speciality Tablets like size 10-13" can be used with Windows ( not Windows RT ), these are like business oriented devices... but I hope we will see Dual OS with these sizes...

but convertibles can be had with dual OS also...

The best Dual OS I prefer is not dual boot, but two devices in one, the Windows part will run on normal x86 CPU ( Intel or AMD ), and the Android part will run on ARM based SoC like Snapdragon... and includes a switch that can be used to switch between them in the fly, no need to turnoff then boot into another OS, let the active OS go to standby and wake the new one... with newer CPU's the standby times are very good... but the user still has the option to turn off the OS he doesn't want completely...

And please Sony, Add an MHL input in your Tablets and Laptops so we can connect smartphones to it... or prepare the tablets and laptops to be able to receive and view Miracast screen mirroring... so we can use the tablets, laptops & TVs to view the content from where every the source is... streaming the TV show from the TV to the tablet is good if we want to be in move while seeing it...

I agree with the flash on the Z Ultra. After all, it's a phone in the end. But, why on a tablet? Except for sending some random stuff, I barely use my tablet's camera. I think they need to improve the software from the XTZ camera, and add a better front facing one.

I really want to see a cheap tablet from Sony. 7-8" 1080p IPS display (Triluminos, if it won't cost too much), MediaTek's True Octa-Core, 2 GB RAM, 2.2 MP front cam and no rear cam, 16/32 GB variants (no card slot), 4000 mAh battery, splash proof or nano coating, WiFi and LTE versions. No other bullsh*t, just a plain cheap tablet. I know they can't price it the same as the Nexus 7, but at least just $50 pricier. Tablets really should not cost too much, otherwise just buy a laptop which would be much more productive.

Before you try doing anything fancy with the flash, Sony needs to sort out its ridiculously heavy handed image processing. Doesn't matter if you have LED, Xenon, or even plasma for a flash, if the phone can't take images without applying such ridiculous noise suppression that all detail in images is lost.

I found this in the SonyMobile page for the T2 Ultra...
were alla this useful function already present on the ZUltra? I do not remember the possibility to slide up to open the Notification tray... seems really useful

While we're all sleeping when there's no rumours...

I was wondering, when will Sony adopt the new USB standard ( Type-C ) ? early or later

According to most sites, devices with the new standard plug will start to appear late 2014.. this making Sirius and might even the flagship after it will not make it with this new standard...

but will Sony have any device in 2014 that will support it or they will skip 2014 and start every thing in 2015...

For those who might not know, USB Type-C is a new standard for next Gen. USB, it's not USB 3.0 or 3.1 it's a new adapter ( plug or socket ) and cables... It will have the same dimension as the current Micro-B ( the one used in most smartphones ).. and most importantly it will be flip-less, means we won't have to worry about orientation when plugging the cable ( same as Apple's Lightening Port ), the standard is based on USB 3.1 specifications but sadly the new plug/adapter won't be compatible as the changes to the design mechanically and electrically will not make it possible to make a complete compatibility... the spec. is meant to be finished in mid 2014 including industry reviews which is planned to be in first quarter of 2014... devices are expected to start in late 2014 after few months of finalising the standard

It's not clear for now on the compatibility with existing Micro-B plugs, is the new standard electrically compatible or not, if it compatible then a simple cheap passive adapter will be enough to convert from Micro-B to Type-C...

The new standard is designed for being used in thin and ultra thin devices including smartphones, tablets & ultra thin laptops, support SuperSpeed and higher power delivery with small socket ( not like USB 3 cables which are bigger duo to higher pin count )... the power delivery will be scalable depending on the device requirement of power...

Hmm maybe ZU successor? Unless it is the Z2 then wonder how the waterproofing and dustproofing was achieved with just a thin bezel.

Or this is fake.

LOL at the endless Bezel war
now what will the enemy complain about? Camera I think...
it seems real... the reflection on the front seems from real glass.
in the first photo, right of the phone there seems to be TWO black shadow, which could be from the volume rocker... or simply the background...
Also we cannot see if it is thin or thick and the upper and bottom Bezels... they could something like 5-6cm long

I still like the Z1 style... I'd like to have lateral Bezels thin... but upper and down I WANT bezels of at least 1/1,5 cm... I need theme to play or hang it in landscape mode for film or photo!!!

EDIT:
It also has an old wallpaper, not one of those new leaked from the sirius... but IMHO it seemsm to be using the 4.4.1 update leaked from sirius, wich have no gray bar where there are the button on the screen... at least from what can be seen in the second pic...
