Its funny actually. The P800 doesn;t have that screensaver clock and there were quite a few threads here and on My-Symbian with people asking for one! I think someone has now developed it but SE will never really win.

IMHO the clock only comes on when I am not using the phone so whats the big deal? I quite like pressing the side buttons on my T610 and checking the time when I don;t have my watch on.

Hey! Iīm not bitching about the clock, just curious why it is not (more)visible in energy save mode, like it was on my t68i. Only time i really use it is when itīs sitting in car holder anyway, thatīs the reason iīd like it to be clearer without pressing buttons. If i set lights to 'on' itīs bound to consume more power and shorten standby time, right?

I rang SE to find out where my local SE service centre is and they said that there is no upgrade for the T610. I suppose she meant that there is not major upgrade, ie R2A or something. I'll have to try my Carphone Warehouse. How much smoother are the GIF animations anyway?

Ok, I give up.. you obviously:
1: donīt read all words in posts
2: Are all shareholders in SE who throws tantrums at hints of critizism of your beloved toys.
3: Both 1 and 2.

Itīs not like i am considering selling my phone because the clock is hard to see compared to t68i, i am simply curious as to why they changed it. I have all 10 fingers intact so pressing buttons is not a problem, but when phone is sitting in car holder, it would be nice if the time was clearly visible without pressing buttons. Ok?
*Case closed AFAIC*

How about changing profile when you put the phone in the car holder? I think the "in car" profile is set to have backlight on at all time as standard...

No, there is nothing special with the 'in car' profile in regards to light.

All the profiles have the same options for light which is 'on' or 'automatic'.

@Carlsb3rg
Because it is obscured by phone when itīs in the holder...
But letīs drop the subject, Iīll survive, and itīs off topic anyway.

@msandford

As I said earlier, Sony Ericsson "customer services" are usually clueless about software upgrades and will tell you that there is not one available, but there is, so ask them where your nearest SE service centre is, ring them to make sure they know about the upgrade and go and get it done!!

SE told me there was no upgrade available but when I insisted there was, the dopey woman went off to check and then confirmed that there was.

Got my Vodafone branded T610 flashed to R1L today, no problem, but I still got those crap menus and other stuff, do I have to remove the SIM before the flash? Do I have to unlock it first?
