It sounded like a heavy hint that one exists and is possibly ready to announce but the commentator sounds worried about the release timescale.
I think next gen should read the next generation of type of device i.e. not a camera that isn't as good as it says on the box, faster than the standard 1GHz CPU, integrated GPU, smoother transitioning or he could just be talking about the next gen of the X10 series.

Nope sorry by out I meant they will be "released" in the market by the end of this year around Christmas time.
The two devices (maybe more than two) will be announced in the coming weeks by
And if you noticed, SE lately has reduced the gap between announcement of a device and it actually being available in the market (Eg. X8, Cedar,Yizo,Zylo....etc)
And as far as I know there is no 12mp Android phone coming anytime soon

It sounds like good news avmax, I hope you're right.
As for a 12MP android phone I'm not actually that bothered about it. I want the cam speed in my X10 to be upto scratch first.

I don't have a problem with the cam speed in my X10, seems to be fine for me.
Anyway, I would rather them keep the MP at around 8 and improve the optics - we've been asking for this for a long time. Xenon would be nice but not if makes the phone thicker - I prefer it to be around 10 - 12mm.

any news on upcoming symbian phones?
I am almost sure there won't be any. SE will concentrate on Android and WP.
Ah man, i was waiting for a nice high end symbian^4 device.
I don't like Android, its not mature enough to do what i expect. (i'm used to UIQ with lots of nice extra's)
I won an X10 with a contest, but i sold it, its to boring.

Well not quite likely mate
is focusing on Android for the future and most of their high end smart phones as well as feature phones are expected to have Android. Windows Phone 7 is also something that they will concentrate on but definitely not as much as Android.
At the same time as long as Symbian enjoys a significant market share, it will be likely that will launch phones with Symbian, similar to Vivaz. |

Doesn't look like there will be a PSPhone this year, if this guy is to be believed. link, but then again, we've been down this route many times before.

Note how he said that they won't be releasing any more phones this year.
That was the impression I had all along since they mentioned that they were releasing less phones this year.
That makes avmaxfan's posts wrong. They may announce phones this year for release next year.

yes, SE is looking at the quieter route. The time from announcement to release is getting shorter which is always a plus. Hopefully, the ones they announce this month or the next will be something mind blowing. I'm actually cautiously optimistic. |

I think if Eldar hints at a 12mp android, then he most likely knows what he's talking about. A couple weeks ago, he posted that SE had sent him a large number of new prototypes, which he obviously couldn't talk about.

Dual-SIM phones have a small market, I don't think SE will go that way. |
