Several things:

1) Dragontrail and Gorilla glass are "scratch resistant", not damage proof. The only benefit this provides is a surface that does not pick up micro-scratches from common items in your pocket or surfaces it scrapes up against.

2) The increased resistance to scratches is often comes with the trade-off of reduced flexibility.

3) Put those 2 things together and you have a phone screen that can resist more everyday abuse but will fare no better (and potentially WORSE) when it comes to abrupt shocks and bending.

Factor in ever-increasing size of phone screens and you can start to see why some screens "randomly break", even though they're made of adamantium-unicorn-teeth and diamond-farts.

TL;DR: There is no conspiracy, nor an epidemic - things MAY have been improperly installed, but more likely you're just seeing a huge pane of brittle shit being crammed into tiny pockets and misfortune.

Or you could just flash it using flashtool?... it's piss easy TBH and you can uncheck DATA and APPS LOG wipe so you won't lose a thing.

There are no more barriers to cross. All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference toward it I have now surpassed.

It already had support for mkv files, my mkv videos play fine but with no audio... AC3 codec was not supported

Go for it... Absolutely! I already have a 64GB One waiting to be inserted in my future Z2
It is necessary IMHO!

Well... my Z2 / Wifi seem to be incompatible. I have discovered the joy of the Android "obtaining ip address" bug which has been around since at least Gingerbread Google tells me. So basically my Z2 can't connect to my Wifi unless I root it which I'm not doing.

Has anybody else had this bug and did they come across a way to sort it out? Would it be likely that a replacement Z2 would have the same issue? (basically is it a hardware failure or a software failure?)

I solved this by completely reflashing the firmware. It was the phone... it's an old Android bug seen on many different brands and models. I believe that in my Z2, it was caused by doing the latest update OTA instead of using the PC software. I won't be updating OTA again.

My Z2 does over heat at certain times, especially on 3G,its very random. The temp goes upto 45C and the battery tends to drain a little faster that time but in about 30mins-1Hr everything returns to normal.Anyone having this issue? The weather is hot , humid and about 35C here btw.

Finally Got My Z2. Lovely Device. Absolutely loving it and finally got rid of Windows phone. There is slight gap on the top right corner and its only as this as a paper. Only noticed it by reading forums. Camera is also slightly on the left side. But no Major over heating issue. Recorded 4k video for 5 plus mins got bored and turned it off. Played lot of Asphalt 8 and The walking Dead. Battery and screen is also awesome. But yeah its a finger print magnet. .Also no lag what so ever. After experiencing S5 for a week i am glad that i went for z2. No regrets what so ever.

Also got Noise Cancelling earpiece. Sound quality is awesome but it doesn't make a huge difference imo. or may be ear buds are small for my ear canal
