Maybe they overclocked some processes....But i suspect that this is a mistake...The same had appeared in some firmware versions of other models:e.g. K700i and they correct it.

Guys,i have a question:how can they make faster the phone?Do they write the statements in the code of its operating system a bit different so they can be executed more efficiently?Or do they overclock the processor? And if they overclock the processor how can the phone consumes less power?(not exactly this phone, but in general-as we saw the battery life of K700,K750 and K800 has increased with the software updates whereas the phones performed a lot faster)

I would guess speed is reached in time by cleaning up of the os coding. Just a guess..

But now few are saying the battery is draining up quicker than before so my guess is that they either increased the proc. clock or , most likely, they filled the ram more. Some of the people are complaining about "not enough memory" message. But, again, it is just my guess...

Just another update on the battery life.

I charged my phone overnight on Monday. Took it off at 7am Tuesday, I've sent and received a total of about 75 messages and done absolutely nothing else with the phone at all. The battery is now at 14%.

It wasn't very good on 037 but on 038 it is absolutely shocking.

EDIT @ 16:48 - Down to 12% now after 3 more texts. Unbelievable.

Guys, from what you are saying, seems that they have overclocked a bit or left more processes in the ram. That could explain faster draining of the batt?

@darrengf, have you tried to benchmark it with the new fw?

I havnt got any benchmark software for the phone, if any one can point me in the correct direction so i can do the test for you.

Thanks

I have a Very big problem with my phone, Got a VF with the 38 FW but the media player is all messed up (the media player text is duplicated where the other copy of the text is slightly offset)

You can see for yourself (sorry for the poor pic but you can see that the photo is not blurry)

I have tried master reset but it doesn't fix the problem
Updating the phone via SEUS fixes the problem but it gets all blurry after you open the media player a couple of times

Anyone got the same problem or managed to fix it?

Battery now down to 3%.

Thats 37 hours from an overnight charge. Absolutely pathetic and completely unacceptable. If this isn't fixed with the next software then I shall seriously consider getting rid of this phone.

1889, try change your theme and see if it helps improve your battery life. I had good battery life before I upgraded to R1DA038. After the upgrade it really felt like something happen and the battery got drained a lot faster. However then I changed the theme and now my battery life is good again! Strange...

Maybe because you messed up your battery with your run-downs

Glad I got rid of this phone for the time being... going to wait till it drops in price to grab it again... and by that time, it'll be Feb, and the phone should be ripe to pick. Using the N95 8GB for now.

I would if there were any that actually looked decent. The only one that looks any good is the one I'm using.

Doubt it. I've only let it completely die once anyway. Normally I just let it get really low, like 12% or less. It didn't die yesterday, it got to 3% and then I charged it for a few hours.

Battery Issue:

I have the same theme and my usage has been consistent between the upgrade from firmware version 37 to 38, yet the battery life has substantially gone down!

Its really bad, ive resorted to taking my charger to work now as it dies too quickly.

I want to go back to the old firmware in order to get a decent amount of battery life for my phone, but only way to do that is to pay the davinci team 10euros.

I dont think its fair to have to pay to downgrade firmware because SEUS have messed up!

Have been a hardcore SE fan for a good few years, and its hurting to have to say im getting fed up of this phone!

At least I'm not the only one with major battery problems.

I'm stuck with my phone now aswell. I'm a couple of months into an 18 month contract so its too late to send the phone back or anything, I'll just have to stick it out and hope the next software upgrade fixes it.

Here's the link: http://www.jbenchmark.com/index.jsp

You need internet conn. to benchmark after you have created free account and installed the app.
