@TheRealSpawn

for me, it is because it's still a very important future since we still use a LOT of sms services here in Indonesia. personally, i get more than 40 messages in my phone everyday. some of them are important so i think it'll be nicer if the phone i use can store hundreds of sms.

If you want these features so badly, why don't you go buy a nokia?

SE is concentrating more on the multimedia (3d Java, Picture, Video, music and internet) experience and these are the features the are pushing and they're sorta leaving SMS with the basics (imho its still pretty advanced with 100 sms, and you can have smileys unlike nokias ).

thanks for confirming my suspicions!
But at the moment on my t610 i have the memory very close to full and i need to delete sms when i want to send one.
I just like the nokia way of operating as far as messages goes...only limited by the phones memory.
But i really dont see myself buying a nokia!! well...perhaps the 7610 if i decide i can afford it [addsig]

I heard that SE was concentrating in multimedia, not in SMS... That doesn´t matter, a phone like this (even T6xx should) should have folders and (at least!) memory for about 150-200 SMS.

Not only I write many SMS (about 40-50 / day) but also folders with passwords (THAT would be a GREAT feature) because: when I bought T610 people got crazy with such beautiful mobile then wanted to navigate with it (same thing with K700i when I buy one); THEN, they can read some SMS that I don´t want them to read! With folders (as my friend with a 6210 has!) and password protected, life would be great... clean and safe

I've gone over the white paper (R2a) and the manual, but there is no mention of a restriction of how much SMS you can save in the phone, other then the memory itself.
From the manual (page 37):
Quote:
Received messages are saved in the phone memory. When the phone memory is full, you must delete messages or move them to the SIM card to be able to receive new messages. Messages that you have saved on the SIM card remain until you delete them.

The white paper only states a restriction of 100 messages and the space left on the SIM card for EMS.

I need to wait until next week before I have the K700 in my hands. Dutch releases are slow.
After that, I can try it myself
