Its true that on the T610/T630 that the shutter sound, even when on, can hardly be heard. I just think they're over-reacting slightly. Also heard they have banned camera phones in leisure centres in Australia. For obvious reasons.

I have heard this b4, sutter sounds are being made compulsory because of people taking pictures of children and so on without them knowing, it is a move to stop pedofiles and others from taking a picture with their mobile discreetly, this will soon be what happens with all camera phones and some digital cameras. Camera phones have also been banned from some schools in the Uk due to this!

I herd this about japanese men taking photo's of up lady's skirt's on the tube's, So the govement wanted there to be some sort of noise with camra phones!

I bet 2 out of three red blooded male's with camra phones do this (come on be honest you know you do)!
And the best time to do this is in the summer (nice short skirts)

Well, this made news last year (b4 T610 went into market) in some arabic countries (can't remember which ones) and they said they will enforce a law egarding the noise the cam makes just in case u take a pic, the subject will know.Also I read about this subject on a japanese site regarding the same thing.They were talking about a visual signaling too, like a red led or smtng like in the video cameras.
