thanks to diezil for idea 
The original idea is actually by Sony Ericsson as they are the ones that enable the Hook's in the firmwares 
(I was just first to get them working on A2 phones, which is no biggy since branded cust packs use alot of that stuff (or atleast nobody had shared the info untill I did)).
I didn't intend my little comment to be directed at anyone specific, I'm just getting a little fed up of the bad atmosphere in the SE modding scene after reading all the stuff that was posted about topse.ru, when in fact alot of the people involved with that thread and other's "regularly" do the same thing (and sometimes worse), I'm just losing interest in the whole modding thing lol.
I apologise if it came across as a stab at anyone as thats not how it was intended |

How do I modify the xml to point to the 4.2 release of Opera Mini rather than the beta? |

do u really need to master reset the settings before it would replace the right soft key for operamini?
and if i want to restore the oginal one, would i just delete the file for right_soft_key?

Yes you need to Master reset settings otherwise it will not work.
If you want to rem0ve the rightsoftkey just delete the .itm file.. |

No you don't need to do a master reset.
Just upload the Hook/s then delete these 2 files cust_menu_data.dat & cust_menu_done_unpacking.dat found in this
location TPA\PRESET\SYSTEM\CUSTMENU

Don't worry about backing them up. When you power up your phone, they (cust_menu_data.dat & cust_menu_done_unpacking.dat) will automatically get generated again .
Trust me ive done it over 100x it's better than master resetting all the time.

Well I accidentally deleted a folder that I think was called RIGHT_SOFTKEY_HOOK from TPA\PRESET\SYSTEM\CUSTMENU and now the mod isn't working. There is no softkey at all with the custom .itm loaded into tpa/preset/custom.
If I delete the custom .itm the i get the "Contacts" soft key back.
I'd tried creating a blank folder on my PC and copying it to the phone but it seems we cant create folders on the phone yet?

Ok well, didn't realise we could create folders on the phone using a2uploader and right clicking! Problem now resolved! |
