before you all start to talk i will tell you one thing SE is not producing a phone with feature like w800 and high technology.
If you read the hundreds of other threads about it you would see that most people agree with you.

dont forget walkman phones spose to have a loud speaker not low speaker .
Actually Walkman does not imply anything to do with the quality of the speaker. It is only music playback through the headphones which is supposed to be good. Look at the Sony Walkman MP3 players, they don't even have a speaker at all. Walkman has nothing to do with the speaker, it is a brand based on the idea of portable, personal music. You brought this up in another topic some time back and you were told this, why do you keep bringing it back?
Also, your main gripe seems to be with cameras. You seem to think a Walkman phone should have a good camera, but we all know this is not how SE have decided to do it. Walkman is for music and not camera. If you want a good camera, buy a Cyber-shot because the music player software in a Cyber-shot is almost the same as a Walkman phone anyway.
There are simple ways around your 'problems', you just need to work it out. Seeing you like Samsung so much, why don't you buy one instead of being here complaining about SE. If SE don't do it for you, then so be it. There are a lot of people here who are very happy with their SE phones.

Why is it that anytime some people read something they don't like, they shout "lock thread" ? Criticism is good both for the company and for the consumer, I still read and criticize because at one time I valued SE for the innovative AND high quality products they produced and hope that SE may get back to those days. As for SE not owing us anything, I strongly disagree. For the price they ask for their devices they do owe us at least what is in the white paper and a decent build quality. Deleting stuff from the white paper does not help to provide any confidence in the company image, nor does stopping support prematurely.
Currently I find very little to say in favor of SE, they have successfully destroyed a very good reputation build by the legendary P800/P900/P910 devices and do not show any signs of getting their act together.
I use both a P990 and a P1, the Symbian+UIQ+touch screen combination works best for me. The death of UIQ may just mean a total disaster for SE as there will be plenty of other manufacturers to choose from, SE is loosing its leverage and seems to be doing nothing to counter that trend.
Just for the sake of clarity, I want to add that I'm not complaining about the camera or the music quality, the P990 or P1 fits my needs perfectly with the exception of BT sound levels which can easily be corrected by modding.

SE is immune to criticism, frankly they don't care! They're in so much trouble right now yet it seems that doesn't faze them one bit.
I just read a scathing review from Eldar on the W902 and I wonder how many more of those kind of reviews is it going to take for this once innovative and wonderful company to really wake up and do something as time has all but run out for it.
I'm buying the X1 which is my last SE phone unless they truly bring back innovation and quality in their products.
Yes, there's been too many of these kinds of threads and yes they've become monotonous and boring but if SE had listened and acted accordingly then people wouldn't be this disappointed time and again to start thread like this.

The man's got a point, already a well established point though. I mean, SE brags about the W890 stereo speaker, a pig's fart sounds clearer and louder than this much cherrished, overrated feature- it's a friggin' joke!

Umm...that would be me. Point is, if the phone speaker is the selling point of the product like what SE is widely advertising, it should at least be an IMPRESSIVE phone speaker. Go to your nearest SE dealer and give it a go, I swear you'll be pissed over a darned loudspeaker

I place the beginning of the major ranting spree right after SE's announcement that the P990 was in acceptable shape and no more fw support would be provided for it and anyone who is not happy with this should go buy a P1. Until that unfortunate announcement, most P990 users were happily trying to assist SE in correcting all the issues in the P990.
It takes real hard work to piss off such a great number of dedicated hard core fans.

There's this notion that if a phone is music-centric there should be loud speaker or loud sound input...
But let's get real...majority of phone user who uses it as a MP3 player listens through headsets. Good headsets which SE provides |

Dude, they advertised "Stereo Widening Speakers" as a special feature. If you heard Nokia ever advertising anything remotely close to that, chances are you'd be blown away by that feature. There is absolutely nothing special about those W890 speakers, just poor, poor, poor. The speakers should at the very least be mediocre (yes, this is how ridiculously low one's expectation should be for SE). The one who should "get real" is SE because they keep advertising product they don't deliver like multitasking and RDS AF in P990 that never worked when they ended support for the device.

Still SE doesnt have a single phone that have specs of N82. Elder is justified in his latest writing. Look even Nokia is providing free GPS maps so no data cost. If you are lost at a place where there is no mobile network then still nokia maps would work. SE New designs are really ugly. I guess K810i was the last beautiful phone. If W960 had gps then it might be a big hit but when it was launched it was outdated on that price catagory. I am disappointed with SE but still not with Sony. |

"Main selling point" and "selling point/special feature" are two different things my friend. If it were a main selling point , well...ughh I can't do this anymore, it's too exhausting to be pissed. I wonder how dogmann does it lol
