I read in a T3 magazine that the ps-phone will also support UMD and wi-fi,just to mention a couple.they have an actual picture of the phone with a lady holding it and it doesnt look all that thick.good news is that they say its coming next year

There will be no PSP Phone any time soon. I spoke to SE yesterday and the only thing why this rumour started is that they patented the idea. They are not planning, at least not until 2009, to manufacture a PSP Phone. |

not cleary its market.
gaming cell is not a rare thing, see sample
if it going to play a real playstating game, the CPU must be very high speed and huge memory available at least 200MB i guess. |

I think it doesnt need 200mb ram, look at th psp itself, it doesnt have much memory and high speed processor, u can say it equal to average smartphone like p1, but the graphic boosted by an incredible graphic chip.
Im sure this phone will success if it running psp-like games, we knnw psp have much hardcore and targeting 13+ ages gamer games, even u can get a sexy games, so i think u cant tell gamephone just for kids or teen.
fyi much more psp owner ages higher than 20+, im 25 and i have one in my pocket |

gaming phone?
I don't think that SE will make - or Sony will allow SE - the same mistake that Nokia did for 3 yrs on the N-Gage hardware. Nokia did a lot of things right including the price and a specific APN - uncongested - for GPRS gaming ... a BOLD move. However a gaming specific phone limits the abilities of what users can do on it.
Think about this for a moment .... SE with a gaming phone. We've already seen what SE did to 2 VERY successful phone brands that shared essentially the same hardware and functionality save for just 1 ... that's right 1 simple button (switchable by firmware). W800 & K750i. Just revisit the thousands of common posts amongst hundreds of different threads of ppl wanting both Activity Menu & dedicated walkman button, quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE, and also stereo walkman HPM-70 headsets that ship in the box with adequate memory card. Well, we got what we ordered hence the W810i. What SE wasn't realizing and nobody at that time thought the need to mention it (W800 & K750 already had this) was the Camera Shutter had to remain with said features. Since then SE has segregated the two brands by removing features again and again with each generation. Now the K850i doesn't have the PLAY/PAUSE button. Now ppl want a gaming phone? Remember how Nokia with the NGage redux kept the QD without a camera while the other Nokia release began with a camera? No thanks.
TO be honest if anyone watched Sony's PS3 conference at the last E3 2007 where they showed off the "Home" feature ... they showed a firmware tweaked (one off) of a W880i (with the new Media browser that the W910/K850/W960 have) and it took a photo and uploaded it to an online connected PS3 console. I think with the W910i & the K850i with motion detectors, these are a precursor to a very high end media phone with HW Nvidia/ATi chip and with motion sensors for specific range of gaming .... there is your gaming phone. Remember Sixaxis controller on the PS3, well think of the K850i as the perfect controller. |

i've been thinking of getting a PSP slim, but ever since i read from the T3 magazine that theres a PSP phone in the works i'm thinking of holding out for that.
i'm not one for switching phone models like shoes, so i'm quite attached to my p990 right now, but i figured if i'm gonna give it up its gonna be for the psp phone. |

IMHO, they should better integrate it on other series let's say walkman or cybershot
