Damn, where is that picture taken? Seattle?
Nice car! Is that a GTI?
On topic:
Personally, my problem with camera phones is that it takes a lot of practice to get a perfect shot; with traditional cameras, its a lot more point-and-shoot affair.
However, you can't beat the convenience of a camera phone.

It's taken in Auckland.
Auckland has 17 extinct volcanoes. I was standing on one (North Head) and you can see another (Mt Victoria) to the right. The suburb in the fore-ground is Devonport on Aucklands North Shore. The camera is facing southwest. In the background to the left is Auckland CBD with the Skytower (tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere) quite prominent.
I live about 25min to the North of Devonport.
View to the North of North Head showing Cheltenham Beach.
View to the East of North Head showing Rangitoto - another extinct volcano.
By the way the first shot (of Devonport) was with Night Mode left on by mistake.

All 3 photos taken with my V630i on the same morning.
My son has a S700i it takes impressively sharp photos too. Much better than the pics from my old V800.

Yeah, Auckland is a great city. I moved here 8+ years ago from the U.S.. And, I wont be going back any time soon!
And, the W810 has a great camera. I got mine last November and still love it.

I used the "rule of thirds" to compose them. I read about it in a magazine article.
When pointing your camera, divide the shot up into thirds horizontally and vetically, making a grid of 9 equal parts. Put the items of interest on the 4 intersection points NOT in the middle; I like to put the horizon line on the intersection between the top and middle "thirds".
The pictures just look more professional that way.
An example:

My wife's just bought a Sony Handycam DCR-DVD708E Digital Video Camera Recorder which takes 1.0Mp still photos in 16:9 widescreen.
Once I work out how to use it, I'll take some comparison photos between Handycam/V630i/S700. Should be interesting.
If I can get the screen fixed on my 2.0Mp Nokia 6234, I'll include that too.
