yeah joysticks definitely cause more problems than individual buttons for directions. like nokia hardly uses joysticks... but i like the feel and stuff of joysticks, it's just that they leave a big hole for dust to enter and also get unresponsive after a while. |

i dont know. maybe im lucky.. i dont wanna push my luck by talkin about it too much...
but i treat my phones quite badly.
i drop them quite often. but have never had problems with the joystick.
maybe dust is the real problem...

A mate had a similar prob with her SE, sent it to Voda repair centre, came back just as bad. After a huge tiff they eventually replaced her phone... Maybe you should make some noise...

Same here. All my of my Sony Ericssons have been well looked after. My Panasonic with the joystick on the other hand, was well looked after but dropped numerous times - mainly in a drunken state - and so far, the joystick works perfectly after more abuse and use than any of my Sony Ericssons. |

Hmm... so far I haven't had any joystick problems with my T68i , K700i and now K750i. Have you guys been playing a lot of games on your phone (i.e. heavy joystick usage)?

Dammit, I love my joystick but I use it heavily (games/WAP/going through menus managing files) and now I'm petrified it'll become unresponsive very quickly
Had the phone for two weeks and joystick is still fine so far.. knock on wood. |

Yeah I play alot of games that are demanding on the joystick so I guess this is why it has become unresponsive for me. |

After a week the joystick of my K750 started squeaking when pressing it down ("south").
A bit dissapointing, but whatever... as long as it's responsive I won't send it in for repair.

Yeah, had the same problem with my one after about 1weeks use. Believe it or not, the squeak is now gone. All my SE from T68, T68i, T610, K700 have had superb joysticks. The K700i in particulary was used regularly ie: Tennis, never had a problem. The good thing about the K750i is you can now purchase and replace the joystick, something that could not have been done with the K700i.

Thing that annoys me with my K750 joystick:
Pushing up, down, or right gives a nice 'click', but pushing left is really loose and spongy.
I think joysticks (or any moving parts) are weak points in phones (especially SE phones)... I would love SE to make a really solid (metal?) phone with keypad buttons only. |

that phone was awesome! ive still got one! but the battery only lasts about half a day.
ooh and my k750's joystick has stopped working after 2 months. up left and enter dont work very well at all, it happened very randomly as well! it was fine then i pick it up to look at photos. got to the folder and it just died. very strange.
im taking it back to get repaired tomorrow. the oxford st cpw branch said it should only take 24hrs, i can live with my v/z800 till for that long!

I think the problem with k750's joystick is that a lot of dust enter between joystick and phone, and dust is electronics worst nightmare (besides water).....
