I've done a bit of reading about this and I believe its to do with the blackberry client to enforce corporate policy of locking the device (much like niactivity lock).

an 8 digit code must be entered before the device can then be used again

presumably its to protect sensitive company data should the device be lost or stolen

About Corporate Lock: Our guess is that it is the same application that was present in the previous firmware under the name CLUI, but was not present in earlier firmwares. Other than that, masseur's assumptions above look correct (we have no concrete knowledge about that).

@masseur.

as blackberry client 4.59 doesn't work with the latest firmware would this mean that bb client would still invoke corporate lock?

Yes, correct.

The corporate lock is used when you use Blackberry BES (& perhaps Active Sync) and the corporate IT policy is forcing the lock after a certain moment (30 min).

After 5 times the wrong password the device will delete all mails, appointments....

Just waiting for SE to release the next version of BB Client; I hate paying for a service I can't use.

I called SE Support to ask when it was likely to be available and they didn't even know that a firmware upgrade had been released last week, lmao!

The BB Corporate lock has never been active for me when using a UIQ3 phones whereas the Active Sync lock was always active...

I really hope we dont get that annoying lock as I really cant be arsed to enter an 8 digit code everytime I want to use my phone...

With OTA wipe this shouldnt be neccessary in my eyes...

thanks for this, i now have the latest firmware, and i must say, running 2 SEUS at the same day is nerve wracking.

Just did a quick test an it seems to me that it does not auto-focus while recording. I noticed that Macro mode is not supported also.
Seems like the focus is fixed at the optimum position, from something like 50cm to infinite (? difficult to evaluate)
The camera captures movies at 320x240, so a *perfect* focus is not that relevant.

Edit: No, not blurry at all. Pretty smooth.
