And i never said Sony is "cheating" with Triluminos, i said its a software enhancement. Did i say that was worse or better? Its fairly obvious you are utterly clueless about the subject wich is why it got you all agitated. QLED is simply a more efficient way of boosting color gamut instead of having to calibrate at the factory and then again prior to launch. But its not better or worse in terms of color gamut. It makes sense to use QLED for a TV. And i only used Apple as an example, dont get your panties in a bunch, how about the new Nexus 7 wich also uses software calibration, does this make me a Google fanboy now?

Vaio Pro 11 with Triluminos screen, they boosted color gamut even more simply by calibrating the screen.
If anything fans like you are the worst thing that could happen to Sony, all you want to do is fawn over them rather than point out flaws to help them improve future products. We saw how that ended up for the Nokia fanboys

Again, you don't know what Triluminos is. Previously, you claimed Triluminos is a software enhancement. Now, you claimed Triluminos is an indirect enhancement so no calibration required when the phones leave the factory.
How Triluminos works is simple. Shine blue lights on red and green pixels to produce colours, conventional LCD screen will never able to produce. Does it sound software to you? Lol. Try harder.
I think there's no point sticking with delusional humans. If you think triluminos is a software thing, take some China phone and try to calibrate the screen's colours beyond what it can display. I will give another medal.

Screen color gamut coverage can never be boosted by software or calibration. Read what notebookcheck wrote:
Even uncalibrated, the display offered good gray levels, color accuracy and saturation. The DeltaE 2000 rarely goes above 5. After calibration, the measured values are much closer to the ideal and in some cases the DeltaE 2000 scores are well below 3 (the naked eye cannot distinguish the differences).
All the above have nothing to do with color gamut coverage. That is something only the panel hardware is responsible for. Vaio Pro 13 covers about 86% of sRGB and no calibration will boost that figure. Calibration can only adjust how colors are displayed on the screen, not the number of colors that the panel can display.
Monitors that cover 100% Adobe RGB or even 90%+ of Adobe RGB color gamut are extremely rare and cost a LOT. If calibration could boost color gamut coverage then photographers would simply calibrate cheap 70% Adobe RGB coverage monitors to cover 100% Adobe RGB gamut

ha! i speak japanese, but i did not even realize it was a romanized japanese.. that makes it a lot easier. haha..

As tested by Erica Griffin, the cute technology nerd who likes to film stuff, the color gamut is the same when BE2 is on XZU (before the X-Reality update) and when it is off @09:00. So no software magic to widen color gamut. The video also explains how Triluminos tech works.
Xperia Z Ultra: What is Triluminos?
Mind you guys, the color gamut on the XZU is not as wide as you might think from Erica's test. Wider than sRGB, but not much. But in a display much smaller than a TV, I think a small difference in color gamut can be more noticeable. That's just a quick theory, though, don't hate on me or call me a troll. |

@itsjustOH - her videos are entertaining, but not always accurate. I don't really trust her. I mean, she took the XZU into a pitch dark closet on 100% brightness, then claimed the screen probably has a defect cause the blacks were not black? That doesn't show much common sense in my opinion..

@moogoo Yeah, that was a mistake she did. But she should know that LCD displays have that problem, especially when you tilt it on its corner. I don't know if she did that on purpose though, she likes the phone a lot. Still a cutie. |

Z1 seems to be the best for me

i care about smartphone speakers too.. but only that they are LOUD.. not so much on how great they sound. As long as I can understand speech for the ocasional video here and there. that's all that matters. I just need to hear my ringtones/alerts mostly
