Oh Jelly Bean looks fantastic, I'm ashamed to say I'm still on 1.9
I'm not updating because every time I have done, I've tried to make backups with TitaniumBackup but it's not restored my contacts/sms messages which really sucks.

What software do you use to backup your stuff before updating? How do you use it properly?

Titanium Backup for my apps.
All my contacts are synced with my gmail so no problem there.
I hardly use SMS anymore.it either whatsapp or email so no need to save them.
1.9 think you need to update.at least to v2.6.that version is perfect.
Haven't had one issue with v3.incredible first JB ROM by Westcrip.
Once again all the negative talk on that thread are from people not knowing what the hell they are doing cause I haven't encountered any of those problems.
Battery life on v3 was scaringly dismal but its been fixed in v3.0.1.Gonna give it 3-4 cycles before I judge.
Very happy with it.

Updated my GS2 from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 few days ago and have been very happy. The UI has had a few minor tweaks done to it including a font that seems to be a little thinner than it was in 4.0.3, battery percentage now can be displayed next to the indicator, the web browser has had some tweaks done and runs incredibly smooth and faster now.

Performance wise the entire phone is much faster and more consistant than it was with 4.0.3, there's no more of that "sticky" scrolling, or that bit of lag in some menus, its very polished overall, and the notification bar icons are smaller and some of the indicators e.g. the silent/vibrate icon have been changed.

Battery life seems improved to, im coming from LP4/LPS Luxembourg 4.0.3 fw which had decent batt life, and 4.0.4 seems more efficient overall especially in deep sleep.

This is my experience without having formatted my phone before or after updating, today im going to format and see if it improves.

I am on CM9 9.0.0-RC2, it is very good too. I am waiting for CM10 to be more stable before I go with Jelly Bean.

Tsepz - So is it worth to update or should I wait for JB update? Does the slide at the top to brighten the screen still work after the update?

Thanks

Hi skblakee
I'd say its worth updating, we may not see JB for another two months.
This 4.0.4 update fixes all the 4.0.3 bugs, and is a lot more stable.

Thats very odd, 4.0.3 did have some weird issues now and then.

Id suggest doing a format after updating to 4.0.4, just to get a clean start on the new ROM.

Anyone updated Dolphin Browser in the last 48hrs?Its running beautifully!

Yep a factory reset in some cases after updating is a must.Updated an uncles S2 from Gingerbread to ICS and a week later he asked me if I could put it back to Gingerbread because its running slower.Just did a factory reset and that fixed his problem.

If you can, update his to 4.0.4, that will sort it all out.

Skblakee
