Enjoy it Hobbs!

Must say, im thoroughly enjoying Slim ICS, my GS2 is setup to exactly what i like. Ever since i saw Engadget's and GSMArena's photoshopped GS2 pic with stock ICS i wanted a stock ROM glad there was a ROM cooker who had the same idea.

Think i will try MIUI when i get bored of stock ICS, i remember using a MIUI Android2.3.5 ROM on the X10, their UI looks incredible, i still use the MIUI Music Player on the X10.

Guys, need some help. The voice application running on my phone is alerting me to messages, calls and other items. I find it useful but it has only come on every since i removed (or tried to remove) voice talk. The thing is that I do not know exactly where it is located or how it started coming on but I like it.

Help me find it?

skblakee What do you need us to find? Voice Talk? Voice Command? Voice something-or-other?

Just a heads up.I've just installed Resurrection Remix ICS v2.1 (Siyah v3.2.7.2 is included in the rom which is cool) and it is fantastic..Wescrip has done an amazing job.MIUI will have to take a back seat for a while in a ClockworkMod backup file on my Internal SD cause this rom aint going no-where.

Tsepz When you are bored of SlimICS,give RR a trial run.I'm a big fan.

Two roms to switch between that I love.MIUI & Resurrection Remix.I'm a happy chappy.

Since upgrading to ICS I've noticed recently my GS2 getting a lot hotter on the back near the camera and also on the screen. Doesnt matter if its when using data, wifi or just looking through the phone. I have brightness set to absolute minimum as well.

The only thing that has helped reducing it is having the power saving option turned on permanently.
I tried sniffing coke once but didnt like it. The bubbles kept going up my nose

Im back on Luxembourg LPS Samsung stock ICS. Dont get me wrong, i was thoroughly enjoying Slim ICS even with some oddities here and there, but im hit with the same dilemma as i had when using custom ROMs on X10, there are certain built-in apps in TouchWiz that i really like e.g. the Yahoo! Finance app with its auto scroll widget, i tried to use Bloomberg's My Stock widget but it just doesnt work as well as Yahoo. I like how AccuWeather is integrated into the UI, the Memo app, built-in Call Auto-reject,the built-in Samsung taskmanager, Music player, the sheer simplicity and functionality of TouchWiz and also how it looks. Found myself missing all of it overall. There's also that sense of security when using it, its not hiding any weird suprises as Samsung's engineers have had to make it as stable and usable as possible with all basics very well covered.

Overall as usual, im happier with Stock, but im still going to try other ROMs over time.

I tried Slim ICS out but I do prefer RR. Think I'm running 1.9 still, might upgrade to the latest version.
Had a look at the s3 a few days ago... it pains me when I see pictures of people using it, I love the screen!

What launcher are you guys using?

Having so much fun with this Resurrection Remix rom. This is when you smile and think to yourself,''Who needs the S3.''
Set my dpi to 165 after finding a phone.apk mod so my dialer doesnt crash.Everything is perfect.

Tsepz Spent some quality time with the Galaxy Note over the weekend and we made the right choice. The Note is an awesome phone but there is something just not right about the size of it.Doesnt feel right for me.

What do you guys think would be a nice port from the SGS3? I would like more shortcuts in the drop down bar.

After much tinkling around with RR Ive come to the conclusion
that MIUI is still KING.Speedwise, performance wise, everything wise
Just updating now to MIUI 2.6.8.

So pleased I got that Galaxy Note envy out of my system.
After spending 2 days with it the envy is gone.
Not for me.
Two weeks into my upgrade and I still havent thought
of upgrading.AM I SICK I WONDER.

The peace and calmness of MIUI.

Don't know why I ever switch to these AOKP/CM9/SlimICS ect kinda roms. After a day or two I always hate the look of it.

@Hobbs
You love changing your phone don't you
I went through a similar phase with my C901 (loved that phone)
Customized EVERYTHING on it downloaded every flash menu on the web ~500? every custom theme, layout, new firmware, camera mods, light effects, patches, custom splash screens, boot animations................ the list goes on (it really does )
[brings back good memories of esato ~2 years ago ]

Unfortunately this lead to modding it so much I lost track of it all, the mods installed didn't suit eachother, UI graphics were way off and the phone memory was so full of flash menus that I couldn't even send a text
Now, I prefer to have a really simplistic clean look to it, free of all the crazy mods I used to find cool (they just made the phone look messy) The stock look of the phone is great for me - with a few simple clean mods. I can't even stand more than 1 notification in the bar

So I understand why you have changed back to MIUI. However, I don't like the iPhone look (would make others think I was an Apple wannabe when our device is much better )
At the moment I am still using RR1.9, but limit the amount of stuff I have on each home screen, keeping it really simple is what I love, one widget per screen, calender... to.do list etc. IMO this gives a much cleaner look than iOS (as all you see is an app draw) and hence why I prefer android to iOS

@skblakee
Would love to see the video minimization feature ported to our S2

I don't recall which of you wrote about this but I am finding that my phone is running a bit hot around the camera lens as well. Suspect that some feature is running unnecessarily. I checked and found that the phone spent quite a bit of time running in the 1200 range.

Any suggestions?
