Better backup?
If you want better batterylife, set ATK to kill when screen is off, then add ATK to the ignore list (I don't know why it's not added by default)
Do you use 3G/HSPA mobile data? Disable mobile data if you don't use it... or use Juice Defender along with ATK (don't forget to add Juice Defender to ATK)
Since the 2.1 upgrade, my battery life has gotten so much better.
Although I still get only 2days... I can now leave everything on... Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth, background sync... and mobile data with Juice Defender. Without Juice Defender, I get only 10-15 hours.

Hey Malinda, that sucks... I know some countries block the Market (just like some apps don't show here in the Philippine Market)
My friend taught me a technique, although I haven't personally tried it (I'm still looking for my Orange SIM)
-find any foreign SIM card, doesn't have to work insert in your Android phone
-reset the phone to factory settings, or in your case, reflash to 2.1
-set the language manually
-connect to the internet via wifi only
He says that's how you get the Marketplace and other restricted apps
Again, I haven't personally tried this technique, and if I ever find my damn Orange SIM (I've turned my whole place upside down already) I'll try it and let you know.
BTW, sent you a PM

On that note, I have a new fav desktop/Android app... Textdro. It allows you to send and receive SMS on your computer from your mobile. Free version connects using manual wifi IP. Paid version allows Bluetooth and auto wifi IP.

i've just upgraded to 2.1. is anybody else finding it is way too easy to rearrange the icons? you can now rearrange the icons with a long press, but its just so easy to do when you are just trying to use the screen. this feature doesn't really add much value not sure why they had to put it in. |

Ok, I've just been able to bypass the annoying country restrictions on my X10 Mini Pro here in the Philippines
I can now browse the EU Android Marketplace.
I'll write a detailed blog entry about it once I figure out if it works the way I think it should... but so far so good.
