you couldn't just move your p800 out of the way of your face slightly...

Well, I did that as well but it completly took the focus away from the phone...

Edit: I've had a coupple of PMs on how to do it so I copied one of my replies from another topic:
Altering the looks of a P800 is actually suprisingly easy!
I painted mine black.
All covers are "click on" apart from the one over the loudspeaker and the one covering the IR. These are glued on with a silicon type glue. You just pull gently frum the top on both of them.
Sand gently, clean propperly, spraypaint, wait, and then wack ot all back on. A few drops of superglue on the two covers mentioned and:
VOUALA!!!
Pick your colour and give it a go! It's a piece of cake!

So did you go with any base coats or primers or any topcoats? What make paint did you go for? Did you feint off the fumes from the paint then wake up to see you had landed on the spray can nozzle and had sprayed your house black then tried to get up but couldn’t because your paint soaked clothes had dried to the floor so you were pinned down only to have the next door neighbours cat come in through the window and eat your left foot the screaming then alerted some passer by who contacted the police and then they burst in destroyed your front door then saw you, had a good laugh got the fire and rescue people to pry you off the floor and then you realised you were naked from top down and were stretchered through the street to the ambulance parked 10 blocks away and you were really, really, REALLY embarrassed and hoped you never tried to spray your p800 black? Hey, that looks really nice. I'm currently trying to spray mine a metallic midnight black, I'm just hoping it will look as good as yours.

I should have done it by monday morning, had a few drawbacks with coarse wet and dry paper. So did you not use a lacquer of any sort? and how did you finish it?

I've sprayed mine black, am just trying to get a good finish!

Did the stylus (off couse) but couldn't be bothered to do the flip. Never use it anyway. I did do the on/off thoug.

I don't know the name of the paint, I've chucked the can. Sorry.
I told the guy in the shop what I was going to do and he gave me a tin he said was perfect, high gloss, hard wearing and puick drying.
I did two coats and used a woolen cloth to to get the shine.
