Badass, phone is still looking good. Quick question, I live in the US and i was wondering if the k800 would work here? I have Tmobile so i dont think 3g would work for me, so would the k790 be better? I know theres a k790a, k790c, and k790i but no matter whcih i have, as long as its unlocked, would it still work here in the US? Thanks in advance

Ok guys, just been testing out this Best Pic feature...

Basically, as you push the button, and it's focusing/focused, it starts to take the series of 9 snaps. This is done pretty instantaniously, so by the time you've let go, you have 9 pics to choose from.

It's not slow, but then again, it's not the MOST useful function ever...

I would say though, that the k790i has loads of other pro's, the menu speed is awesome, everything is very slick, the activity button is properly implemented, and from just have a general browse, am gonna be sad to see it go. (It has nothing on my M600i though!)

The purple lights do look pretty kool by the way, but you all know that already!

Any questions, feel free to ask.

Cheers guys, Daz.

Here's a photo to keep you all entertained: (A guy at HoFo was doubting my authenticity, hence the message on the screens!)

dazbradbury,

Honestly I have my doubts, but anyway I'd like to ask following

  • Is it possible to create subfolders for SMS messages and move desired messages from inbox and outbox to those? If possible, is there a limit how many subfolders?
  • Is it possible to define a shortcut all the way to a certain application, just as example? Or to "Write new text message"?
  • Is it possible to scroll through the street address of a person, not just the phone number(s), Email and Web address? Without selecting "Edit contact"?
  • Is it possible to define another alert time for the birthday reminder than 9 o'clock in the morning of the birthday? The day before birthday?
  • Is it possible to enter the year of the birth and get the age of birthday hero calculated and displayed?
  • Is it possible to make currency conversions? Measurement conversions?

Hi, ok, as another user mentioned, i'm happy to set up a webcam, and show the phone in action... (Surely people here can vouch for me though.)

About the Q's, I'm not actually using the K790i, i've just got the M600i and have spent alot of my free time with that. I will however do my best to answer your questions when i get back home tonight.

Cheers. Daz.

Nope, I can't see an option to create new folders...

  • Is it possible to define a shortcut all the way to a certain application, just as example? Or to \"Write new text message\"?

Yes, you can create or a shortcut to a new text message,

You can also create a shortcut to pre-defined programs/folders, such as Video Player, Games, Video DJ etc... This also includes settings, such as profiles, time and date, etc...

However, you can't go into for example the file manager, and create a shortcut to an app through there...

It seems SE have decided that there are certain things you can shortcut to, anything else, you can't. So installed apps for example, you can't shortcut to.

  • Is it possible to scroll through the street address of a person, not just the phone number(s), Email and Web address? Without selecting \"Edit contact\"?

Ok, in the contacts menu, you can scroll through numbers/email address, as these are directly accessible things. But, you can't scroll to their address. You can however \"View\" the contact, (NOT edit), this brings up all the contact's info, which includes address etc....

  • Is it possible to define another alert time for the birthday reminder than 9 o'clock in the morning of the birthday? The day before birthday?

Ok, to do this, you can add the birthday of whoever it is in their contact information. You are then asked if you want this input into the calendar. It also asks you if you want a reminder, and you are free to choose when that is.

  • Is it possible to enter the year of the birth and get the age of birthday hero calculated and displayed?

Ok, when you do as above, when the reminder comes around, you are told the persons birthday, DD-MM-YYYY.

It also give you the option of \"congragulate by\" phone, message, etc... Quite nice.

  • Is it possible to make currency conversions? Measurement conversions?

No, there is no measurement/currency converter that I could see.

Right, hope that helps. Cheers. Daz.

There is a nice SE converter application that you can put on the phone, does things like distance, other measurements and currency etc. Look around and you'll find it. I use it on my K750, comes in very helpful.
