The Z screen wasn't bad, wasn't great at first but improved every time after updates and is now good.

Anyone know how fast the camera will open and take a picture when pressing the dedicated button say from the lock screen? or if it is possible to use the burst shot feature from that state for when you really want to take a picture quickly?

@kimocal - camera opens up fairly quickly. see the review video below. not sure if you can set it to burst mode from a lock state though.

This video is in italian, so i don't understand it. but it seems like this is a retail version or at the very least, an official review model. he doesn't do a viewing angle test but at the very end.. the last minute or so, he holds the phone at an extreme angle as he's handling it and the angles look very good.

overall the screen looks great in this review.

I keep going back and forth with whether or not i should get c6903 or c6906! sigh.. guess it comes down to how soon i want z1, and whether i want the watch or not... decisions decisions..

McKinley - if you're going back and forth to europe a lot and you're ok with using tmobile in the states, c6903 is a safe bet. C6903 supports the majority of the european LTE bands. depends on which country you frequent the most. it seems like only AT&T uses band 17 LTE, and that is the only real benefit to C6906. in your situation, C6903 is the better option.

I'm not being a troll and I know that I brought this up before but if you type "Xperia Z Cracked Screen" in Google there's pages and pages of people posting on lots of different forums saying their phones have cracked infront of them or whilst on a table.

Has anyone on here had this problem? it seems to be hundreds of handsets so might be more than just a small few.

I hope Sony have designed the Z1 screen and handset better to prevent it overheating like the Z did before updates fixed the overheating and to make sure lots of people with the Z1 won't have this problem.

I'm thinking of getting a Z now secondhand for around £230 and then getting a Z1 before Xmas but all these random screen cracks I'm seeing on Google is putting me off a bit, I'd have to insure it straight away if i got one.

if you're that concerned, just get insurance. and if it happens to you.. get it replaced and/or get a new phone with the insurance. done. seems pretty cut and dry.

not sure what you're looking for here. you've already read the forums where people have complained. you can interpret that as you wish. but it still seems like a fairly small % of overall Z sales. and any product has issues in small percentages. I can name at least 10 that my macbook pro has, which are common and show up all over google when searched, yet everyone phrases macbooks for being so amazing.

obviously, $hit happens. it is glass. but i as long as you use it with reasonable care for a high end electronic device.. i don't see why it would just shatter/crack

i know the lumia guy above just wants to add fuel to the fire of disappointment we're having with the display (raising the same issue twice) but well, i'm not really in the mood to defend sony. i'm really badly disappointed with the display although i really hope the problem's going to vanish with the actual retail units. please sony, no more xz blunder this time. i had my hopes high when they released xz ultra. now, everything seems to fall apart.

@geo extra storage as in the example i shared when sdxc costs 40$ doesnt translate into $200 somehow, emmc in bulk is cheaper than sdxc. the price would not be substantially increased.

This argue about display is getting tedious but not less valid in my opinion.
if you are promoting a feature that is suppose to be remarkable, it better be remarkable from the moment you put your phones for public display.

If Sony are getting bad reputation for having phones with various display quality, that's actually a failure in my book.
Nowhere else do you read HTC One using bad in some and exceptional display in some other.
The very high qualty in their display is consistent, and thus we never read anything bad about it.

Although, we have all the quirks floating around, my interest in getting this phone is stronger than never for its potential.

I guess you've never heard of the magic purple on multiple HTC flagships?
