Guys, i bought a new w890i, which in overall is great, and i'd like to ask anyone who could help on the following issues:
- i found a default software bug on version R1EA030
(http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=172088)
- how can I set a ringtone so that when someone calls me, *he* will hear that ringtone until i pick up the phone?

I'm pretty sure that's operator dependent and has nothing to do with your phone. The network sets the service up and makes it happen, not your phone.

Yeah this is definately an operator option... You can use such things ONLY if your operator allows that...
P.S. In my country the second mobile operator (Cosmofon) has a function like this. It's called "FunDial" so you can choose one of the predefined FunDial tones...

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but are there issues with poor reception on the W890i, the only reason is its been mentioned in reviews on the UK expansys site. Mine always shows a low signal, but the signal strength meter always appears unduly pessimistic as even showing very low signal its never dropped a call or failed to receive one, and the call quality is first rate, maybe firmware related or a dodgy batch? |

First, install latest version of Adobe Flash www.adobe.com
Second, re-install Update Service (drivers is included) from www.sonyericsson.com

i did transfer all contacts from my old 810i but birthday reminders did not automatically go into calendar even though they are there in the contacts. even if i press edit and save it again, it does not come up on calendar. any cure exists to this? |

It doesn't come up coz the date already passed.. Try to set it again on the next birthday in this or next year then it will be repeating again as usual.. Works on mine though.. |

before it would always come up automatically every year, like when someone's birthday is 1-july-1970 then every 1 july the calendar has it... at least so it was in my three previous SE phones, but this time it just didnt set up itself..
actually saw someone else asking this same thing regarding another SE phone on this forum, so i wonder if thats a known glitch or some exceptional issue... |

Or maybe you have to delete the birthday and set it again.. But it takes time.. Have u tried to syncronize your phone through pc? There must be easier way.. Gud luck  |

I had same problem,
I have to DELETE the birthday and re-enter it again "not just edit" to add it in calender view as birthday.
When sync. with computer "using MyPhoneExplorer" it added to the calender as recurrent appointment. |
