K750i Remote Control |

Hi folks,
I've been a user of this board for some time, although i have never posted since i could always find the info i was loooking for...
I recently got a new k750i on o2 (in the uk) and was playing about with the new found functions and what not, although trying to use the bluetooth remote control, just doesn't seem to want to work...
I've obviously plugged in my bluetooth dongle to the PC, i can transfer files to/from pc/phone, although when i try to connect using the remote control function, it just doesn't connect at all
I've been having a hunt around on the net and not really found much info, although i have found that my bluetooth device should be HID compatible apparently, which i'm not really too sure about?
I've also 'plugged' the phone into the computer (usb) and installed all the software related to the new hardware, along with all teh syncing programs
Anybody got any info on how to use this function?
Cheers |

first pair your PC with the phone, then try to use the remote.

Cheers amnesia,
As far as i am aware, i have paired the two, it's asked me to swap passcodes and all that, when i click the bluetooth icon beside the clock, i can see the phone in the list.
Would it matter what type of bluetooth dongle i have? |

Are you guys having problem with the remote control feature sure your PC bluetooth stack and/or dongles realy supports the HID profile ? If not, your remote control will not work.
Maybe SEs remote control tool can also be of interest.

I have the same problem. I think they are paired, and I still can't use the remote. I have the Belkin F8T003 Bluetooth dongle which (I checked now) *does* support HID.
Seems something else is going wrong... |

i dont think it matters what dongle you use.
When you open the bluetooth menu on your pc, make sure it has the 'paired' icon. If not try to pair via the pc and not via the phone first. (or try vice versa)

if you are running XP and have updated to SP2 its a known issue that Microsoft have screwed around with the bluetooth stack and generally have crippled it. SP1 bluetooth was fantastic, never any problems, BT serial port worked great for FMA etc. But now in SP2 its crap really, you cant browse the phones contents etc, not sure on remote as i gave up on it.
Check on the manufacturers webstie as they may most likely will have updates for SP2 drivers.
Its a shame MS decided to mess around with bluetooth, sure its a bit more secure these days but its lost 90% of (IMO) functionality and ease of use. |

my dongle is this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBay[....]Item&?ViewItem&item=6363452969 one
Although i can't find any exact details about the product (emailed the seller), i've tried updating it through windows although doesn't seem to do very much
Also i have paired it, i think, although it doesn't say it expliciatly?? i have swapped passcode n stuff, so i reckon that's that?
I tried the remote control program, it loads fine and appears fullly although it requires the connection to be working in the first instance
Is there any third party software i can use, i used to have a t610, and there was a program kicking about for bluetooth use like this one, although i can't remember the name?

My dongle is a 'New Link NLUSBBT-100'
It is HID compatible.
I used to have a K700i and the remote function worked perfectly with the same dongle?
I have looked on the net and cannot find any updates etc.
Anyone got any other ideas??
