ok...i started this thread because some people asked for it.
if you have any GOOD tips, please write them here..
# rule number one: ALLWAYS find the right light on your object.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
¤ outdoor, (strong sunshine)____ISO Auto + Daylight profile.....(or sometimes ISO.100)
¤ outdoor low light____ISO.200/400.....still daylight profile, (sometimes cloudy profile)
¤ outdoor night____(Night pics is hardest for a tiny cellphone camera-sensor to shoot)
aim at the strongest light source you find.....
sometimes plain Auto works best /or/ portrait night profile /or/ ISO.400......it depends on the light source.
¤ indoor, low light (No flash)____ISO.400 /or/ ISO.auto...(and KEEP the phone steady)
¤ indoor with flash____ISO.100 + flash.....
¤ Macro outdoor____plain Macro + Daylight profile/auto (+ zoom X 2-4.....if you want)
¤ Macro indoor____Macro + ISO.100 + flash, (+ zoom X 2-4.....if you want)
-------------------------------------------------------------------
@ use BestPic often____(the result is often good...dont ask me why
@ adjust the whitness balance with your D-Pad..(strong sunshine -0.3 or -0.7........low light +0.3 or +0.7 ).

Thank you PLANKGATAN.
Been laughing at myself for a while now.
w900 indoor pics turned out better coz it hasn't got a flash.
Hope i start to love the k850 as much as the old trusted w900 now.
still learning!

is it better to use or not use the stabiliser setting? |

I would not use the stabilazor too often. On this kind of simple cams the stabilazor only increases the ISO to obtain a faster shutter speed. As you may guess this will at same time also give you more noise in the pictures. |

i have thinking about this stabilazor a lot.....best way to see the different is to shoot 5 pics with stabilazor and 5 pics whitout stabilazor.
arne anka.....i have been using the stabilazor all time....(i have told myself thats the best way...maybe i wrong....
so when is the perfect time to use stabilazor ?????
you shake little in all pictures !!!! (macro, portrait, etc, etc)
wondering if it improves a lot if you use the stabilazor at the right time ???

My guess is use the stabilizer while you are snapping a closeup that way you won't get much blurry effect in the photo, then again i'm still not very familiar with the stabilizer.

you probably already know this but for anyone who doesnt:
when taking a close up either in normal or macro dont hold the camera any nearer than about 10-12 cms or the picture will be blurred. if you want any closer picture you can zoom in from that distance. |

@plank...
the thread on K850 photos has been bookmarked since day one on my browser due to my curiosity about the phone's camera capabilities. and every log-in adds perk to my day with all of those great shots by the contributors and yours especially.
before, i'm torn between this unit and the W960 but i am now convinced that this is the unit for me. i'm more of a camera guy! and since i already have my reliable W810, guess K850 really is the unit to buy initial news points to November as its release here. i'll wait for its price to lower though (usually takes after a month or two here after release). so i guess i have to satisfy myself for the meantime with the K850 photo thread. this particular thread would definitely add to my bookmarks!
critics (peace, brothers!) should bear in mind that the K850 is a Camera-Phone and not a stand-alone camera. it should never be compared with such. objectivity-wise, it should be judged within its own technical specifications, merits and league. with its capabilities and potentials at the hands of someone capable and with potentials (pun intended!), it surely is fulfilling it's SE hype and is becoming at par with dedicated cameras!
keep those tips coming! cheers!

Hey Plankgatan thank you for the thread you've taken & posted some fantastic photo's also some very helpful info!
I'm only posting this next part so people don't get confused over the terms being used within the camera settings when they read your helpful advice,
the D-Pad adjustment is 'Exposure compensation' -0.3, -0.7.... or +0.3, +0.7 (and so on) adjusting the amplitude or sensitivity of the the sensor to light,
white balance (or whiteness) adjustment is Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent, Incandescent
Kind regards,
