Rumor has it that Nokia is due to announce an 8 GB version of N95.Well, it’s not really a rumor as it’s on Nokia’s own site, however it’s not yet announced.
Esato News
The upped memory would make it more competitive against Apple's smartphone, as the top iPhone model boasts an 8GB capacity, as will Sony Ericsson's top of the range Walkman phone, the W960. The rumours, which began when an xml file suggesting an 8GB model was spied on the Nokia website, are also suggesting that this version would be touted as a special music edition and would come in black. source:mobilexpert pocket-lint

...though this being mainly a Sony Ericsson forum i start to switch to the other manufacturers...there are more interesting devices to be seen and this N95 music edition would be great, although i suppose it will cost a fortune, considering the actual N95 is not really cheap |

i might go for this N95, by the time they launch it, hopefully they have sorted out any problems the N95 has been having.

Hi all,
As nice as this news is i really fail to see the big deal as 4GB SDHC are already available and the price of them is dropping plus by the end of the Year there will even be 6 or 8GB cards. As they can be Hot swapped and are so small talking virtually as much storage as you want is more than possible.
For now i am more than happy with my devices and what they are able to offer and am waiting for the true next gen devices to appear next Year using the OMAP Series 3 chip and hopefully more Ram. With the size of memory cards now getting so large i really don't see the need to have large amounts of storage built in to a device as being of that great a benefit or necessary.
@Mr Miyagi
I have now had my N95 for a couple of weeks and the only problem i have had was the Music Manager not seeing the memory card. Since downloading the new PC Suite this is now fixed so i can honestly say bar the acknowledged Ram issues that all Symbian 9.1 devices are afflicted with i have absolutely no problems at all.

Not true. Sandisk has announced both 6 and 8 GB microSD(HC) cards.
Edit: unless you mean, them working on the phone not being confirmed yet. then sorry

Now that Nokia already has their new Media Transfer software, combined with this news, we have a true iPhone-killer... after they add 3G that runs on the 850/1900 MHz frequencies!

Hi all,
The thecoolsha is 100% correct they are confirmed to be released by Year end and i have seen pictures of the 8gb running in an E90 as SanDisk has sent out cards to be tested working as they did with the now available 4gb cards. So this is not a rumour or wishful thinking it is confirmed as real and coming soon, as SDHC is a standard if it works and is supported in a device the size is irrelevant and will support what ever size card is available.
IMO the fact these cards are also hot swappable means that there really is no need to supply the device with large amounts of storage so this means they can keep prices down for the basic device and allow users to decide how much storage they want or need offering far greater flexibility.
To be honest i some how doubt they will remove the GPS and now AGPS as there really would be little point. Personally i haven't used this feature on my N95 and seriously doubt i ever will.
