Help! My W800 has accounted a problem. The orange rubber top on my W800i joystick has fallen off

How could this have happen? It is down to general wear and tear of the phone as i have not done anything else to it.

My W800 is still under warranty as it is 7 months old but i don't want to go to the Service Centre as i know they will send it off to repair to fit a new joystick and that it may take up to 4 weeks till i see my phone again. Plus i will be going on holiday in about 2 weeks time and need to take my phone with me.

I remember stumbling across a couple of soultions on Esato how to create a new rubber top for the joystick but i can't seem to find it.

Can someone please help to find this as i will prefer to try that then send my phone to repair and be without it.

Thanks.

@ ghostfreak: That's the one! Thanks.

I will proberly try that first as looks simplier than the glue gun method plus i doubt i would feel confident to do the glue one worrying i may mess up the rest of the phone in the process.

Next question, where can i get some orange gasket seal from? [addsig]

You could try a local Car or Motorcycle shop/repair centre?

I also noticed aother solution from ijefferies in this thread "w800 - Finally a fix for the missing orange rubber insert on Joystick" regarding a 2-pack polyurethane. What is that and where can you get it from?

It shouldn't cost that much if you can get it in a small amount. I would say somewhere in the region of £5 and £10.

Why dont u just buy a new joystick? It is not expensive. Just go to a support center and say u want a new joystick but that u r gonna pay for it (dont use the warranty). I´ve done it and it worked, got back my w800 with a new joystick 2 hrs later. But theres a catch: I live in Brasil. And another one: the joystick cost something like 15pounds and thats not very cheap for some...
