You could probably piece this together from browsing the various forums and threads but I thought I would post some stuff here for the loyal Esatoans that I've taken straight from the source.
Platform4 CamCoder ME:
The Platform4 CamCoder provides high quality multimedia encoding for any handset equipped with a capturing interface, such as a built-in or clip-on camera, or a Bluetooth™ interface and external Bluetooth-enabled video camera. Compatible with various applications such as MMS or e-mail, it enables real video messaging on today’s devices.
CamCoder key features
-User’s choice of video encoding standard: MPEG-4 or H.263
-AMR audio
-Bit rates from 45 to 65 kbps
-Three encoding modes balance image quality and frame rates
-Content saved to 3GPP approved MP4 file format and attached to MMS or e-mail
-Variety of image enhancement features
Platform4 CamCoder Micro Edition
The Philips Platform4 CamCoder ME provides high quality multimedia
encoding capabilities for mobile consumer devices that are equipped with
a video capturing interface, such as built-in cameras or clip-on cameras, or
interface via Bluetooth™ to any Bluetooth enabled video camera. Easily
integrated into various application environments such as MMS and e-mail,
CamCoder ME enables Person-to-Person video messaging services on today’s
mobile consumer devices.
Audio Video Specification
• User-selectable video encoding standard MPEG-4 SP / H.263
• AMR-NB audio
• Bit rate: –up to 65 kbps
• 3 Encoding modes (frames per seconds figures quoted for a Nokia 7650
device and may vary between devices according to available memory and
available CPU):
- Hi-Speed: Standard image quality, high frame rate (12-15 fps)
- Performance: Good image quality, medium frame rate (8-10 fps)
- Hi-Quality: Highest image quality, low frame rate (4-5 fps)
• Encoding resolution up to QCIF, depending on the phone camera
interface. For Nokia 7650, 160x120
This application is built on top of Philips’ best-in-class video encoder
technology and ensures the highest levels of quality, efficiency and
performance due to implementation of proprietary, patented algorithms
such as:
• Philips patented fast motion estimation algorithm
• Efficient Rate Control – motion / image sharpness trade off
• Scene-cut detection
• Pre-processing: noise filtering
MMS & File Recording Specification
• Captured and encoded audio/video content saved to a self-contained
MP4 file format according to 3GPP TS 26.234 V4.1.0
• Captured MP4 files can be attached to MMS and e-mail.
I have very high hopes for the final version!
(and who would've thought that these details which have been available since October last year would've been relevant to the P800?!)
Edit: I think that whoever leaked this program is probably in BIG trouble.

Looks nice. And yup that guy/girl is probably in big trouble if they caught him/her. Wish the cam had better resolution, then I would install it.

Sorry to be a pain to those who have already read this or knew it already but I just thought this thread should be bumped back up to the top of the list as it seems there are a few people who should probably read this info so they can get a few things straight. |
