There is a new version of the OGG player for the P800 available at http://www.geocities.com/p800tools/oggplay-0.8.sis.zip
It has a new graphical equalizer in flip open mode, but lets hope the author has also improved the programs memory allocation so we dont get those annoying breaks in the music!
Good little program though, and well worth having on your p800. |

I have downloaded the ogg player now where do I get the programs to convert my music to ogg files, to use on it. I am unsure what to do, as I am no expert in this kind of stuff, but would love to ba able to listen to music while out and about. Any help on this, useful links to freeware programs and so on music files all that kind of stuff would be great. |

I use the dbpowerAMp music converter http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm and use Constant bit rate 48 kbps (but you may need a higher rate if you hear artifacts-underwater shimmering type sound)
I find if I burn the original cd (not an mp3) the quality is AMAZING.
I have nine full cds on a 128 mb stick
Also i find a decent set of headphones VERY important so you need the http://pc-mobile.net/sp800.htm 3.5 adudio adapter get 2 for under a tenner 48 hr delivery from Surrey
I use the Koss Porta pro http://www.audioreview.com/PRD_117873_2750crx.aspx headphone for outstanding results out and about (dont be put off by the looks, these babies rock!)

@nigelot1
Thanks for the tips on Ogg bitrate. Ive been using 112 til now assuming that I would hear the difference in quality. just did a test and wow! if there is any difference it is hardly noticeable! So many ogg files i now have to convert from approx 5 meg to just over 2! this is great!
Thanks mate |
