SonyEricsson has shown some new phones to a group of select resellers about a month ago during the Barcelona GrandPrix. One of the phones was supposed to be the "next P800". Lighter, thinner, etc. The reseller who attended the demo was not good with his description so we lack details. Anybody has any details about this ? or the phone ? We are talking GSM Continental Europe. |

The Z1010 will be Sony Ericsson's WCDMA phone. It is a clam shell device. And - no, it will not hold SymbianOS, but a proprietary one under control of Sony Ericsson... SymbianOS might come at a later stage.
On the other hand, the Z1010 will have USB connectivity, 2 cams and a couple of more cool features. Saw the first demo samples on CeBIT this year. They were awesome! |

WCDMA is Wideband Code Division Multiple Access. This is the system being adopted for 3G. So the Z1010 must be a 3G phone which isn't much use until the networks and pricing structures are in place. |

You can find out about it here: http://www.sonyericsson.com/3gsmworldcongress/
I think they should market the P800 better before they spend loads of cash on a replacement as the P800 has a lot of miles left before it gets obsolete.
The other phone isn't a replacement it's SE's 3g offering. |

The Z1010 is actually a dual Gsm and 3g phone. You can use it on both networks.

right!

The Z1010 is not a pda phone, its just a phone, like the gd88, but it is 3g.
It wont make me sell my p800 for that. |

The P810 has a flip that can't be removed, and it's lighter and thinner. Can also probably take video, and it's 65,000 colours of course.
Look out for it in Q4 |
