On eBay there is a guy selling P800 for about $1,000 AUD. Saving of about $500. Anyone know if there would be compatability issues? Most I can think of is the power adaptor...cheers, Mike

I have a HK P800 and here's my take on this:

1) Adapter has the big 3 british type prongs but I am sure you can get an adapter or even buy any standard s/e adapter to fit into an aussie plug for less than U$10.00

2) Language: The HK version of the P800 is *SPECIAL* (a fact unknown to me when I bought mine). It HAS english but some chinese creeps in once in a while (the calendar has the chinese day names as well as the chinese astroligical symbols and lunar calendar allong with regualr western calendar)

3) Text input is in BOTH chinese and english and a pen stroke changes between the two.. you get used to it but sometimes I end up making pretty looking characters because made the stroke by accident

4) Support: S/E here in HK will NOT change the firmware from HK chinese to UK or US or any other firmware, they will update to the newest HK version of the firmware but that is it! Maybe you can have better luck in Oz.

I have had mine for over 2 months and don't notice the chinese so much anymore, I have had no software incompatibilities and the phisical phone is the same so no problems there.
Just be aware that you will have a slightly diferent version of the phone than all else...

Is this actually a P800 though? Or is it a P802?
