They’ve taken it way from me :( !!! |

I took my beloved P800 into the service centre last week to get the firmware upgraded to R2F, they told me it would take 3 to 4 hrs and that I should call them at 2 o’clock to see if it was ready! 2 o’clock came round so I called the service centre only to be informed that there was some inherent problem with the handset and the flash upgrade had not worked so they were sending it to Sony Ericsson for them to look at :’(, its been less than a week without it and I’m already getting the shakes!!!! I miss my P800… |

My phone?
Yes, I find it alot better. The improvements are not HUGE but it is worth it. I find the errors under the upgrade both disappointing and embarrasing for SE. But the small features are worth it. (I upgraded from R1x to R2D)

Good to hear @miss uk
Lucky this didnt happen to me today, i too went to get a upgrade today, but my p800 is fine, and only took a hour i think (i have no sense of time without my phone - as i wear no watch). I say its definetly worth it (the upgrade), especially when one has a 128mb duo, and is watching all their mp4s in full screen (wide screen) on the tube, on his way home
Simpsons/friends/50 cent/ etc never looked so good on my p800

I've updated mine last month but it was very risky cos i've heard that near half of the updates failed and sent to SonyEricsson. Plus i haven't got a warranty because i've bought it from internet. If mine was failed there was no chance to replace or fix it. Luckly they've updated the firmware without any errors.

Its the same with everything, the 3G phones look crap just now, but give it a while and we'll start seeing some better models appearing. The P800 is infiitely better than any 3G phone out at the moment anyway! (I love my baby).
As an aside, has anyone heard about that vibration phone thingy they've got going in Japan? I saw it on one of the Discovery channels one night, but I can't seme to find anything else about it! It is a strap that goes round your wrist, and as sound is just a series of vibrations, it passes those vibrations up your hand. You put your finge rinto your ear and, hey presto! you can hear the person on the other end of the phone.
Before the criticism starts, yes I am sure that I saw this. No I am not making this up, and no I don't know anymore about it.. Hence my reason for asking. |

scots_boy: i hadnt heard of that but something similar was in the uk press a year or so ago, it was false tooth that vibrated against your jaw to transmit sound, so basically your jaw would vibrate and you'd hear the other person talkin in your ear.
