Hi, here's my top10 wanted list for P800.
1. Agendus (from PDA, Iambic Software, http://www.iambic.com)
2. GSMTool (PDA, syncs SMS against Exchange Server / into Outlook Notes, http://www.gsmtool.com)
3. BigClock (again PDA, http://www.gacel.de)
4. HanDBase (db, sync-able against MS Access etc.)
5. WorldMate (exists, currently testing, works great)
6. an atomic time sync tool (a la http://www.atomtime.com)
7. a notepad / plain text editor (which works also for D: (MS) drives, Notepader doesn't)
8. Password store which can hold phone numbers (and offers dialing directly outta the app), URLs (and opens the browser when clicking onto it) etc., free-form field definable
9. PuTTY (thanks guys, just make it a bit rounder, dropdown of previously used servers, Escape / control sequences etc.)
10. instant msg. client covering ICQ+AOL+MSN+Yahoo, a la http://www.jabber.org (who does a port?)
plus very simple productivity enhancements, e.g. like
* direct 1-click access to activate IR for 10 mins, BT etc.
* setting up of "profiles" as known from T68i et alii
Who picks up what, and develops an app outta it?
Thanks mates!

We can all but hope for these things. It would make the p800 a killer piece of hardware! |

Well, No. 10 in your list has been covered by Tipicme (www.tipic.com), and as for the quick access to IR and Bluetooth, did you know that you can get to them through the menu in flip closed mode? Its a little easier than opening the flip and navigating all the way through to control panel.

Thanks for fast reply. I will check out no. 10 app, but for the Flip sometimes i have it unmounted, sometimes mounted (to protect the screen), and put simply, i am used to work with it in open format. It feels so stupid to close it first to get some thnigs faster... Convenience really is an issue- and a differentiator. In all modern devices of today. |

Hi,
one more comment on Tipic / TipicME: I would need to run their server within my environment which is not what I was looking into...
Or does anybody run a TIMP (Tipic IM Server) free of charge smomewhere?
BR + thanks in advance

Tipic use xmpp i.e. Jabber. If you have the Pro version of Tipic, you can connect to any Jabber server e.g. jabber.com, jabber.org or your own (server code is open source). I believe jabber.com and .org have all the gateways you're looking for. |

Does anybody have a *WAP-accessible* jabber.org server list available somewhere which I could use to connect that TipicME PRO client against?
Coolies. If so, No. 10 would be solved. Remain 9 other ones on my wishlist

Don't know much about what is restricted over GPRS WAP as opposed to normal GPRS. Jabber uses port 5222 if that helps. |

I'd love either a small FTP client (not a web browser!) and/or a basic html editor with just a few more functions than a straight text editor.
It'd be handy to have either two apps or a single combined app that would allow me to download a page, fix a problem and upload it again.
The FTP could be split screen, with top half showing local memory and bottom showing server (or button to toggle between the two).
The HTM editor could have some buttons at the top to insert tables, hyperlinks and text effects (bold, underline, italics) and a one-click upload button.
I don't think that the html editor would be a big app to write, although am not sure about ftp.
Any gurus up to the challenge?
(And yes, I know I could use Opera to FTP in and edit with Jtext but I don't like using web browsers for FTP and Jtext is effectively Notepad...) |

Ami, for Yahoo, I use TipicME... it's pretty good... it can handle all popular IMs including MSN, AIM, Yahoo & ICQ. |
