The p800 needs to still send DTMF tones to the distant end when in silent mode. I can't believe that I have to come out of silent mode to access the functions in my mailbox. There is no volume for the DTMF tones...so it's all or nothing. Another thing...when I press the number 1 when not in silent mode (navigating my mailbox), the volume is decreased all the way to the lowest setting & I have to turn it back up to hear my messages (kinda annoying). |

Well...
It's called "silent" mode for a reason... |

Yeah, but not to send DTMF tones to the other end of the phone call...come on. That's just ridiculous. I had a phone once that muted those sounds for me...but still sent the tones. Silent doesn't have to mean non-functional. |

When sending the tones with the "p" the volume doesn't seem to be loud enough. I know I'm not supposed to hear it...but 50% of the time the tones I'm sending are not received by the distant end. I think the send vol needs to turned up. |

I guess I'm missing something here. I just put my P800 in silent mode, called my voice mail and I was able to login and navigate through my mailbox with no problems. I didn't hear the tones, but they were being sent to the voice mail system.
Did I mis-read your post?

It probablly doesn't have anything to do with the Silent mode....I just posted an update to what I think it is. I think it's the volume that's being sent. It works 50% of the time for me. I have issues with my mailbox & with my calling card. Two seperate entities. I don't think it's my phone. It does work with other services. I might just call a number where I can pick up & listen to what's being transmitted. |
