Upgrade P800 in US? |

Anyone in the US know any places that will flash the P800? i would really prefer NOT to send in my phone to get it upgraded, and wait 7-10 days to get it. I live in CO, so if anyone knows a place here thats cool, otherewise maybe listing places that do it, there might be those places in other peoples states.

I called Sony Ericsson USA @ (800) 374-2776 to inquire about updates for the P800 and service point locations in Chicago.
The impression I received from the rep was pretty much this: YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN!!! (in the USA)
He told me to get in contact with my provider and ask them if they can upgrade my P800. I told him that the P800 isn't even released here yet. He said that was the only option, or get it serviced where I bought it from (Philippines). And to top it off, he didn't even know what upgrades are available for the P800 ("Check our our website").
I'm tempted to send my phone back to the Phils to get upgraded by Sony Ericsson Service Solutions (SE's service arm there). They provided excellent service in the past and not to mention they have this really cute girl working at the counter.
I say every US P800 owner call SE and complain about their lack of service prescence.
Cheers...
Ron

Forget asking the technical support personnel here in the US. They're almost always nearly CLUELESS! I bet we know more about their phones from reading the posts here in Esato than they know their own products! |

We service, repair, and upgrade SE phones. We should be referenced as an official SE repair center if you contact SE in the near future for firmware upgrades. For people in the Southern California area, we have an office in Mission Viejo for walk-in service while you wait.
If you're in the Philadelphia, PA area you should contact Robb Weiss at k3cee@msn.com
Regards,

contaygious, it is cost me only $ 45 ($25 for firmware upgrade and $20 for overnight delivery coz I cannot wait my phone). btw I recommend virtual dynamix, they really have good customer service and verry fast. I recieved my phone today in the morning and I did play it phone with the new firmware and everything was going well so far. It is worth the money to upgrade to R2A. |

Where did you guys get your phones from ? I'm from the UK but when I visited BestBuy, CompUSA, Circuit City in Florida last week, they had know idea what this phone was ! Fortunately, I was carrying mine and I think I dazzled them with what it could do (and I onlly showed them a couple of things !) !!! |
