My sister's been playing with my fone for the last hour or so (it's OK guys, she's 21, she's know's what to do!). SHe's just given the fone back to me cos the Communicam screen froze on the SE logo. I switched off the fone and realised that the Orange branded shutdown screen has gone, to be replaced by a SE screen, same happens at Start-up as well.

has this happened to anyone else?

what did your sis do exactly for the orange logo screen to disappear? For it to be replaced by the original Sony logo could be a good thing instead of the shameless over-branding you sometimes get for many users out there!

That happened to a user on the www.whatmobile.net forums when he received a sim update from Orange. No one could repeat the experience though.

I need to discuss it in person with her, i`m not doing anything on tuesday evening.
Seriously it really does`nt pay to let people use a p800 unsupervised.
i have "file manager" on mine & a few touches of the screen in the wrong menu can trash your complete phone, leaving it needing SE attention to rectify.
I`m not saying your sisters an idiot, just that anyone who picks one up quickly gets in a tangle & tries to cover up by canceling what they just did, often in an important menu.

use the filemanager app, and check if shutdown.mp4 and startup.mp4 are in c:\sysdata\ if not, there's ur problem! If u need them I'm sure myself or any1 else with a P800 could make them available for download, lemme know if u need.

if you dont want to use the orange ones on your P800 just simply rename the directory C:\sysdata to something else

I posted about this last night on most forums, but seems i forgot esato!

Yeah, you can delete them no problem - if there's no files there, you'll get the standard SE animations - so either delete them, or replace them with your own custom files (be sure to change the file names appropriately) - or keep the orange ones there, if blatant advertising's your thing!

I posted the original orange animations on allaboutsymbian and my-symbian forums last night, so if you want them - go there!

To select files without running them, click on the icon to the left of them. Then use the toolbar menu to select delete. You can also drag a selection of files (i.e. drag over icons again). Clicking on any filename in filemanager actually runs it.

I left the folder there, so i can drop in other .mp4 videos if and when i want to.
