Hi,

Can anybody tell me how to create an animation (screensaver) for the Ericsson T68i?
Is it just an animated gif I have to create and upload to my mobile?
I've created an animated gif and opened it with the MMS Home Studio by Sony Ericsson, but it doesn't animate in here (maybe that's normal?).
Also, what should be the size (width, heigth) of such a screensaver and the maximum size (kb).

Hope you can help me.

Thanks

Yes, you should use the animated gif file format for screensavers. The image size should be 101 x 80 pixels. As far as file size goes, it depends on how you download the file. If you want to view the image from the wap browser, be aware that some providers limit the size of a viewable image to 2.7 Kb. However, if you link to the file and download it directly without viewing it, the file size can be bigger. I downloaded one that was 8 Kb.

Attention AT&T! You'd better start supporting MMS or I'm switching to T-Mobile!

The best software for creating animated gifs is Adobe ImageReady (ships with Photoshop). It's great because it allows you control the file size by adjusting the number of colors, dithering and lossy compression.

If you don't have access to ImageReady, you can do a search on downloads.com for animated gif generators. But usually you have to pay a fee before you can enable all of the software's features.

Good luck!
